Something inside you screams and pesters you to get out of that bush you were hiding and ran to the camp. Yet, you kept your ground and stared at the small, opened window of the building. There were four—scratch that. Five people inside it.

The leader, presumably Zen, stood directly perpendicular to the window, with his back facing you. With how little visibility the pane was offering, you could only see almost half of the member's face. The other three were discussing something with Zen, but you could not hear it because of the distance.

Though, something caught your attention. It was a man dressed in a lab coat with the stereotypical crazy Einstein hair and wire-framed glasses. He was scribbling something in a notepad while swishing liquids inside the vial that he holds. As much as you treasure your life, you needed to get closer in order to hear them and have a better vision of the villains.

Biting your lower lip, you strategically skulked closer to the infrastructure. You admit you were an idiot. A moron. An imbecile. Because most people would run away at the first sight of a villain, especially those who do not have an offensive quirk. Alas, you still continued with sneaking upon them. Miraculously, they have not spotted you nor heard your footsteps.

Hunching low and moving as silently as possible, you rested your back against the wall. Your figure was just beside the small window, and if a member gazes outside you were good as dead.

". . .more reinforcements are here," one of the members said. "I told you we should've attacked last night!"

"We don't even need that stupid journal anymore! Now that Aki has probably memorized some of it!" you heard one exclaimed. "I might have memorized it, but we still need a little more information for our plan to work. I need that journal," Aki, you presumed, replied in a rather bitter tone.

"We will get that journal tonight," Zen started. "Besides, I have already weakened that doctor's morale down. She should be deathly terrified of all the monsters I sent to her."

You surpassed a gasp and covered your mouth with both hands. Suppose Zen's quirk was to summon monsters either from the shadows or something else. All of it made sense now!

"Anyway, some of our supplies should be arriving right now. Ai and Yo, go fetch them," their leader ordered. "Aki, do you think you need more herbs?"

You assumed that Aki, the doctor, nodded. "Well then, Kou and I will harvest them from the garden."

All four of them are going to exit the building, which was the perfect time to infiltrate and grab a few samples of that liquid in the vial. As stupid as it may sound, you were determined to do it. You were willing to risk it all if it meant having valuable information about their motives and actions.

As soon as you heard footsteps, you dashed away from your spot towards a few bushes nearby. It took a few minutes before they opened the door and scanned their surroundings. They know that their group was small in numbers, and so they took extra caution. With only one member remaining inside the building, suppose it would be easy to knock Aki out. Easier said than done.

Once you were sure that the four members were out of range, you sneak your way once again towards the window. Sure enough, Aki was there but his back was facing you. His desk was messy, cluttered in scraps of paper as well as a few bottles here and there. You don't know if you could knock him it. Heck, you don't even know his quirk. If only there was a way that could distract him even for just a few minutes.

You need a distraction, something to make him leave the room for a few seconds or minutes. Additionally, you also don't know when the other members will return to their hideout. And perhaps the biggest obstacle of all, you were alone. You don't have a teammate tagged along to aid you.

Biting your lip, you racked your brain for plans. Suppose the oldest trick in the book, which is throwing a rock at a distance and hoping it would catch his attention, would attract him and will come to check on the commotion. A few pebbles are scattered around your feet, it could work. If you threw a rock or two at a tree trunk, it could draw attention.

You scooped a few up and hoped that Apollo would suddenly give you extreme accuracy of throwing pebbles. Peeking at the window, Aki was doing his usual business, which is tinkering away on his desk. You also took note that there was only one door in the building. Meaning that there is only one way in and out. You were screwed, big time.

But it was now or never. You aimed the pebbles at a nearby trunk, loud enough for a thud to resonate. Miraculously enough, it caught the attention of the male. He looked up from his work and rose a brow. "A squirrel perhaps?"

"Or maybe a bird?" he asked himself.

Come on, just please get out, you thought. He then opened the door and walked aimlessly outside. He was confident that no one would be spying on them. You predicted that it would only take a few seconds before he comes back.

Curling up your fist, you mustered up the courage to run inside the house once Aki was a few meters away. You made sure to sneak in as quietly as possible as to not spoil your plan. His desk was an organized chaos! You don't even know where to start. Perhaps steal a vial? Or a document? You bit your lip and looked outside.

Only thirty seconds left before Aki returns.

Screw it, you thought and grabbed the nearest vial. Not even having time to inspect the said item, you swiftly escaped the building before he notices you. Stuffing the bottle deep in your pocket, you made a dash towards the camp as if your life depended on it.
