Doctor Whooves - Part 2: An Elder Race

An Audience With the Princess

        When they arrived in Canterlot, they exited the train. What the Doctor saw took his breath away. It was a fair sized city with a castle built partially into the side of the neighboring cliff. 

        "This is... amazing." the Doctor said, dumbfounded. 

        "I know," Derpy said in reply. "Isn't it beautiful?"

        "Yes," the Doctor agreed.

        When they had all gotten off the train, they followed Twilight into the palace. They walked down some halls and came to a giant door. There were two ponies in armor standing guard. When they saw Mist, they hastily opened the doors. The group stepped inside and the Doctor saw two Alicorns at the end of a very big, long room, next to a throne. One was very tall. She was a very light pink color with purple-pink eyes. She wore a tiara, and her mane was long and flowing, It was blue, pink, yellow, and blue-green. The colors seemed to stay in place as her mane moved. Her Cutie Mark was a sun.

        The other Alicorn was the same height as the other ponies. She was a navy blue with aqua eyes. She wore a dark tiara. Her mane also flowed, and looked like the night sky. Her Cutie Mark was the moon, and the area around her Cutie Mark was almost black.

        The group approached, and when they were a few yards away, they all bowed to the princesses.

        "Welcome Twilight Sparkle," said the taller one, Princess Celestia. "And her friends,"

        They were all introduced to the princesses by Twilight. Then, the other Alicorn, Princess Luna, said to her sister, "So it is true, there is another Alicorn."

        "It appears so," replied her sister as she walked towards Black Mist. She stopped a few feet in front of him, and Luna joined her at her side. There was a moment of silence, then Celestia continued, "What is your name, young Alicorn?"

        "Black Mist, your highness," he replied.

        "Where are you from?"

        "I'm not sure, your highness."

        "Please, no more 'your highnesses'. There's no need. Please, explain what you mean."

        "Well, I don't remember much. I remember that I lived in Cloudsdale for a short while when I was a young colt. Then there's nothing until I arrived at Ponyville a while ago."

        "That is all, you may leave now," the Princess said with a small smile. Her and her sister turned around and started walking back to the throne. Just as the Doctor and the others were about to turn around, Black Mist stepped forward and yelled, "Wait!"

        Everyone turned to look at him, surprised. Mist looked as if he was about to cry. "I need help," he said, on the verge of tears. "I don't know who I am, I have strange abilities I can't explain. I feel others. Not just feel for them, literally feel them. I know there emotions, and what they're thinking, sometimes when I don't even try. I'm so confused and I just need some help!" Then, he completely broke down. Fluttershy walked over to him and hugged him. He hugged back.

        The two sisters whispered to each other briefly. Then, Celestia walked over and put a comforting wing on Mist. "We will do all we can to help you," she said. "But for now, we have something very important to discuss... privately. Hopefully, we will see you again soon."

        Mist nodded, and they all left the room. Once they were outside the door, the guards shut them. They walked a few yards and turned the corner.

        "Ditzy," the Doctor said, suddenly. "Can you wait here a moment, I need to go do something."

        Before Derpy could reply, the Doctor turned around and walked back to the guards.

        "Hello there," the Doctor said to the guards. "I have a quick question. What are they talking about in there."

        "Don't know," one guard said. "It's not our place to ask."

        "Oh," the Doctor said, a little disappointed. "Okay, well, thank you."

       The Doctor returned to where he had left Derpy, but she wasn't there. "Ditzy!" he called, but there was no answer. The Doctor started down the nearest hall. He went through a series of twists and turns.

        He rounded the next corner. The castle was so large. He was now so very lost. "Seriously," he thought. "Is it really that hard not to wander off?" 

        Then, the Doctor heard a voice. It was a very familiar sound. Very old. Very deadly. Very... "Impossible!"
