Chapter 17- The First Letter

Y/N's POV

We all sat around Kaitlyn's desk, and started writing the first letter.  I would send this one, so Enoch could send one back, and Kaitlyn could send her's last.

That is, if they're all together.

I took out a piece of paper and pen, and was about to start writing when Alex stopped me.

"The ymbrynes will read it before sending it, you can't write anything they can't see," he warned.

I sigh, "so what are we gonna do then?"

"Oh!  I know!  We can use muina!  It's a type of peculiar ink that can only be reveled by writing over it with more muina!" Aiden exclaimed.

"And how would they know we're using it?" I asked.

"That's the thing, you spell it out going down the lines.  If Finn is there as well, he can help him read it, I know he has some!  He was the one who showed it to me in the first place," Aiden said.

"Well, then go get it!" Kaitlyn snapped.

"Ok, ok, no need to be mean about it," he mumbled, walking out.

A few minutes later, he arrives with a yellow pen.  I took it from him, and started writing.

Dear Enoch,

If you're reading this, you've figured out I wrote this secret message.  Is there any chance you know two boys named Finn and Daniel?  If so, show them this and tell them Kaitlyn, Alex, and Aiden are here too.

We've come up with a plan to be together again, but it could be dangerous, and there's no guarantee it will work.  Our idea is that we can get all of the couples that have been separated to sneak out to a specific loop on the same night.  If we show the ymbrynes that separating people isn't a good solution, we could be together again!

We were think of the vacationing loop near the beach, the one in the year 1848.  We will meet there in a month, that should be enough time for word about it to spread.

If this doesn't work out, I want you to know I love you, and I hope to see you again soon.  Please write back when you get this, and let us know if you know the two boys.  Try to spread the word about meeting at the loop, the more people the better.

"Ok, so now what?" I ask, watching the writing as it disappeared into the paper.

"You need to write a fake letter on top, with the beginning of each line spelling out muina," Aiden says.

"Make it a break up letter," Alex told me.

I snapped my head around to look at him.  "What? No!"

"Yes, Y/N, they're not gonna analyze it if they see it's a break up letter.  I had mine read 8 times before she sent it to Finn, and it was because I was telling him I loved him," he explained.

I rest my head on the table.  If he doesn't realize there is a secret message, he might actually think I'm breaking up with him.  But if I wrote the whole "I love you" thing, we will probably get caught.

"Fine," I agree, "let's just get this over with."

On top, I grabbed a blue pen, and started writing.
