Beckett's POV

What on earth was I thinking?!

I don't know what the hell was going through my mind, but let me tell you now, nothing coherent.

I was brought out of my little world when I heard someone knocking on the door.

"Ally, are you getting it?" I yelled to her. No reply.

I sighed and went to my bedroom door and walked to the front door. The knocking had stopped, but the second I peered through the peep-hole in my door, the door flung open and off it's hinges. Whoever had broken in had just broken the door.

Sorry Ally...

"Beckett, Beckett, Beckett. Nice try, you thought we were done, didn't you? Oh no, life is full of twists and turns, and you just turned the wrong corner." I knew that voice. The voice that haunted my past.

It was him.

I stood up and wiped the blood off my split lip.

"What are you doing here, Caleb?" I asked.

"Getting even."

"What the fuck have you done?"

"Oh nothing... yet," he said and smirked.

Bang!

I heard something hit Caleb before he fell to the ground.

Behind him stood Ally, a frying pan in her hand and she was in a defensive position.

"Ally..."

"What the fucking flip did he mean by 'getting even'?" She asked me.

"I... I did some bad things in the past, and I thought that was over, but-" I gestured to Caleb "- I was obviously wrong."

"You don't say."

***

It was now lunch time and we had gotten rid of Caleb.

Thank god.

I walked into the kitchen where Ally was preparing lunch and singing quietly.

I stood there watching her as she sung the chorus.

"Upon a hill across the blue lake, thats where I had my first heartbreak. I still remember how it all changed, my father said, 'don't you worry, don't you worry child. See heaven's got a plan for you. Don't you worry, don't you worry now' yeah...." she sung quietly, unaware of my presence.

"Where'd you learn to sing like that?" I asked and Ally turned and let out a scream.

"What the hell, Beckett? You scared me!" She said.

"Sorry..."

"And to answer your question, I didn't learn anywhere."

"You're kidding. You're voice is amazing, you have to have had lessons..."

"Nope, all me."

"Well then damn you're a great teacher."

"Umm.. thanks..."

"Anytime."

"So do you need something or can I eat now?"

"Umm... I just wanted to say sorry about what happened earlier, and that I fixed the door."

"Well thank you, that was very kind."

"S'okay."

"Goodnight Beckett," Ally said as she went to her room.

"Goodnight Ally."

I was almost asleep when I knew something was wrong. I heard something split, and then muffled laughter.

Oh fucking mother of Christ.

I ran into Ally's room and shut the door as quick and quiet as possible, and locked the door and put a chair under the knob.

Ally must have heard something because from my place in the shadows, I saw her get up to go to the door. Just as she reached for the door, I grabbed her hand and pulled her against my chest, putting my other hand over her mouth. I could feel her breathing rapidly and so I whispered in her ear,

"Don't worry Ally, it's only me. Look, I will explain all of this later, but first, where is Tyler?" I took my hand away from her mouth but still kept her against my chest as she whispered back,

"At a friend's place, he's safe, just get me out of here."

"I will Ally. What I want you to do, is grab a spare pair of clothes, your phone and your charger and anything else that you would never be able to part with. Shove it in a bag but be as quiet as you can. Got it?"

She nodded and crept to the other side of the room and packed her things, and thank the damn lord I somehow forgot to take my phone out of my pocket and it was pressing against my thigh, reminding me of it's presence. I had come home from the studio a while ago, I had left after the lunch incident and when I got back I was too tired to change so I slept in my uniform.

The only three things that I wanted to keep we're thankfully with me.

Ally came back to me holding a bag up. I nodded and hoped that she could hear me.

By now, I could hear heavy footsteps in the lounge room. I freaked and started pushing Ally towards the window. Ally looked at me like I was crazy.

"I am not jumping down there!" she hissed.

"No you idiot, climb across to that balcony."

"Oh..."

"Oh Beckett, we know you're in here!" A voice said.

Oh.

Damn.

"Ally fucking move it now, or literally fucking lose it!" I hissed again. Obviously she could see the urgent look on my face as she carefully climbed over the ledge and held onto the railing of the apartment next door. I soon was about to follow when I heard the door crash open.

"Quick Ally, go! If I make it, I'll catch up, just go!"

"Bec-"

"Keep moving!" I yelled now and just as I was about to reach over to grasp the railing Ally had just climbed over, someone grabbed my ankle and hauled me back inside.

"BECKETT!" I heard Ally scream just before a fist met my nose and blood flew.
