Jamie stared at the two items in front of her then shot her eyes to meet Yennefer's, it's been about a week since she started travelling with Yennefer. She was still searching for a way to return her uterus to her, and Jamie was still practicing her sword fighting. But now she was getting a little impatient with the fact that she hadn't been taught to do anything with her powers.
"What am I supposed to do with this?" Jamie picked the flower up and twirled the stem between her fingers, "Bang the rock against it?"
Yennefer drifted her eyes to the table in front of Jamie, "Lift the rock using your powers with this incantation."
Jamie listened to the elder quietly, then looked back to the rock with a brow raised, "Seriously?"
Rolling her eyes, Yennefer muttered, "Just do it, Jamie."
With a huff, Jamie placed her palms on the table and repeated the incantations, watching as the rock floated up into the air. She recoiled back when the flower beneath her palm began to wither and die.
"What just happened?" Jamie picked the flower up in her hands, twisting it around as it continued to wilt.
"There is a give and take with magic." Yennefer explains, taking the dead flower from Jamie, "Magic just doesn't come from nothing, just as you feel tired after casting a spell. It is draining and the caster must be very careful."
Jamie snorted and dropped back in the chair behind her, "Very rich coming from the woman who tried to control a djinn."
"I was fighting for something I loss."
Jamie hummed and leaned back in the chair, picking her leg up to cross it under her other leg, "And I'm assuming you lost it because of magic, right?"
Yennefer kept a stoic face while she watched Jamie cross her arms, "To be reborn, I could bare no more."
Blinking a few times, Jamie tilted her head to the side, "What does that even mean?"
"My ailments were extreme." Yennefer explains slowly as if recalling her own past, "And to change that about me there had to be a sacrifice."
"So you sacrificed your right to have a child to change something about yourself?" Jamie brought her foot up onto the seat and leaned her head against her knee, "Will I have..." She but down on her lower lip, "Will I have to do that?"
Yennefer shook her head, that was absolutely not going to happen to anyone under her teachings, "No, I'm teaching you for free and do not see any reason for you to change anything about yourself."
Jamie bit down on her lip and sat up, ready to continue her training, "What else do you have for me?"
Over the next few months, Yennefer watched Jamie grow with her powers. But was wary of how strong she was. That test she did on her in Rinde was to see what her blood was, and she had some powerful ancestors. And not only did Jamie get a hang of controlling her powers but she got quite handy with a sword.
