"This is a first for me, and that's saying something. I've very few firsts left. But to dine with the Geralt of Rivia... Your adventures are legend."
"You're welcome." Jaskier interrupted, reminding them that he was still around.
Borch ignored the bard and kept speaking with the Witcher, "I suppose you want me to tell you why I've sought out such an accomplished monster hunter."
Jaskier wasn't entirely paying attention to the conversation, his eyes were too busy wavering on the beautiful women in front of them. He accepted the ale but it was taken from him by one of the women. He rubbed at the side of his head for a moment, taking in their beauty before commenting, "You have the most incredible neck." He sighs out while picking at his hands, "It's like a... a sexy goose."
Absolutely disgusting, Geralt grunted as he drank his ale, "Ugh."
Jaskier winced when he heard Geralt's reaction to his sad flirtation, but kept going, "Gu-guzzling."
A beat barely passed before Borch continued, "Now, the King is in a bind. He's set to marry the princess of his rival kingdom, Malleore, which means it's bad timing to have a murderous pest lurking about in the mountains. He's commissioned a hunt to kill it. Four teams have signed on. The winner gets the dragon treasure hoard plus the title of lord over one of his new vassal states. That is... if he survives."
Not entirely seeing the point, Geralt set his ale down on the table, "What does this have to do with me?"
Borch leaned back in his seat, "I want you to join my team."
Jaskier didn't exactly care about their conversation much, he was too busy with the women, "I can hear it now, a tale of two Zerrikanians and their valiant poet lover. Oh! We're so doing this. We're in."
Geralt sighed with an eyeroll, focusing on Borch instead of the horny bard, "You've wasted your breath, Borch. I don't kill dragons. Take my advice. No treasure is worth dying for."
"Depends on the treasure. What I need is... a new adventure. One final first before I'm too old to do anything but die."
With his brows furrowed Geralt responded, "You think killing a dragon will bring you that?"
Borch flicked his eyes back to meet Geralt's, "All I know is there's one path up the mountain, and it's overrun with monsters. With you on my team, dear Witcher, we'll be unstoppable." Yelling came from a group in the back of the room, making their gazes shift to the sound. "Those dwarfs will be a part of the hunt."
"Geralt could handle them in his sleep." Jaskier commented on confidentiality. He paused as one of them ran up to the bartender and screamed in his face, "Or maybe a little bit awake..."
Téa spoke next, "Then there are the Reavers. Have you heard of them, Witcher?"
"Yes." Geralt answers, then moves his eyes back to Borch, "And the answer is no."
