Geralt would not allow Jamie to bring up what had happened at all. He had checked over her for anymore wounds beside the small cut on her neck and that was it from that whole thing. She wanted to talk to him about it. And when she initially tried while he was nursing her wound, she only wanted to apologize for what he had gone through. He was put into a position where he had to kill Renfri. She knew he didn't want to. But he immediately told her to shut up.

He also didn't try to force her to go away or drop her off to someone else. For most of their journey neither of them spoke. Geralt had her ride on Roach as he walked, even though she insisted that she could walk just fine.

"I don't like silence."

"I do."

Jamie was able to convince him to let her walk for a while, but he refused to get on Roach and walked beside her while pulling on Roach's reins.

"I never thanked you."

Geralt kept his eyes ahead of him, "For what?"

Jamie bit down on her lips, facing ahead of her now as well. She knew that if she even said something about Renfri he'd make her stop talking. "Just... for everything. I don't know what I'd do without you." She laughed nervously while scratching the back of her head, "I'd probably be dead in a ditch somewhere to be honest."

"Stop talking."

She winced. Was she really that annoying that he'd prefer for her to not speak, "Sorry."

Geralt sighed loudly as he sensed her mood change, "Do not talk about being dead."

"Oh, sorry." Jamie mumbles again anyway, she rubbed her palms against the front of her jeans. She felt kind of nasty not having a shower after being covered in mud and blood. She lifted her arm and smelt herself. "Gross."

"You need to clean yourself?"

"I'm okay." Jamie had to learn what not to say around Geralt, some of her phrases and lingo wouldn't click in his head. "I can handle the smell." Her hair was beginning to get a little greasy from the dirt build up, but she didn't want to make him stop at all.

Geralt sighed and halted anyway, they were travelling by the river rather than the main roads. She knew the reason was because he was a Witcher. Which she needed to ask and clarify what that was later. She had a lot to ask him but didn't want to bombard him and make him uncomfortable.

"What?"

Geralt pointed to the water, "Clean yourself up."

"No, it's okay-" Jamie recoiled back at the annoyed eyes he was giving her. Making her realize she didn't have a choice in the matter. She bit down on her lip and stared at the water. It was going to be freezing but if she was going to be here, she might as well get used to it, "Uh, turn the other way."

Geralt finally gave her a different expression than the stoic straight-faced look he had for the past few days, "Why?"

She gave him a scowl, "Because I don't want you to see me naked."
