I did say that I would possibly drop a few chapters despite the season ending in my story. I am basically dropping some things that happen between certain points in the story. Such as the large time skips that happens. This is meant to be set between chapters five and six. So I hope you all enjoy, after all, this was really fun writing. When writing this I did mix a little lore together from the games.
Jamie laughed nervously as she was informed what monster was wreaking havoc in this cute little town. Her eyes then shifted over to where Geralt sat. He looked beyond displeased with this particular request.
"Geralt?"
"No." Was his response, "I won't accept your coin."
With every bit of confusion appearing on her face, Jamie quickly got up from the table and followed him. She grabbed onto his arm to get him to stop, "Geralt-"
"The answer was no, Jamie."
"But why?" Jamie stood her ground for a moment, letting her eyes shift over to Roach for a second before drifting them back to Geralt, "These people are obviously scared, Geralt. They need help. You're going to not only help but also get paid. And come on, I've been with you long enough to know you care enough about this people."
"You won't let me live this down if we leave, will you?"
"I won't." She says with a snicker, bringing her arms behind her back with a cheeky smile on her face. "If we leave now, I will forever bring this up and use it to make you feel terribly guilty. So?"
"Fine." Geralt says lowly, looking over her shoulder at the villager than asked for him.
"Thank you, witcher. Thank you-"
"You're staying here."
Jamie blinked her eyes a few times at his words, "What? Why? I want to help, Geralt." She followed behind him like a little puppy, "I can help. You just need to tell me what to do-"
Without even hesitating, Geralt flipped Jamie easily but carefully as he dropped her onto the ground. She released a long groan, primarily from the complete shock of it all. Jamie slowly tried to get up but Geralt moved his sword so it was pointed at her chest. Which made her stop moving all together and drop back to the ground.
"That wasn't funny."
"Wasn't meant to be." Geralt tells her calmly, retracting his blade from her as he reached down and helped her get up, "You come out with me and you will easily die."
Jamie shook her head, "Well, I-I wouldn't say that. I mean, I haven't died yet when I'm with you-"
"You were just lucky." He stood his ground while standing in front of her, "Stay."
"Stay." Jamie repeated in a mocking manner, twisting around with an eye roll and heading back to the inn.
"Jamie."
