Okay but something I've noticed about Beyblade Burst is that this series sucks with pacing. Like, literally. I've watched the Original series as well as the Metal Fight series. Burst somehow fails to be good in plot pacing, and instead focuses on marketing and advertising their Beys. But hey, toyatic anime are like that but Burst makes it obviously bad.
Notice how characters barely get the spotlight
As an anime dedicated to selling spinning tops in real life, they make it way too obvious they're just trying to hype up a Bey.
Every time the company has a new Bey they want to sell, they make a tie-in character who would be featured for only like, three episodes or an arc. They make that character super strong at first to make kids think, Wow! This Bey seems cool! Imma buy it at my local shop, then! After the main character defeats them, they instead get pushed to invisible status. That's because the plot moves quickly, and the writers have no time for said characters.
So you end up having characters like Quon, Ukyo, Zac, etc. Cool characters people wanted to know more, but their times were up because the company came up with new Beys.
Daigo's Edgy Phase
I hope you guys remember how upset he was at one point in Season One. Remember that one time he ended up cheating and felt really bad? But honestly, that's not a very bad idea itself but then it just becomes... bad.
It only lasted for like, barely a long time. Would have been cool if Daigo suffered from this for a while, resulting in some dark turn in a plot. But no. That did not happen at all.
Instead, he seems so much like a child. So much for my favorite mature eleven year old during Burst's first season. Heck, in one episode he quit yet CAME BACK IN THE SAME EPISODE. I mean, that's sweet and all, but that ticks me off because it reminds me of whiny internet people. Ahem, internet people who be like "Waaah you make me sad and depressed Imma quit Wattpadddd" and then come back in like, three days.
Aside from that, Daigo's edgy phase was TOO QUICK. That's my main concern.
Snake Pit Plot
Honestly... one of the best things this series has to offer if everyone gave it a chance. Yes, if you audience people gave it a chance. Yes, if the writers were being smart and focused on it.
Not going to lie, I like the idea of a dark plot within the Burst universe, which seems so tame and calm compared to previous series. The Snake Pit had a lot of potential that could have been shown, given at how it's the nightmare fuel location in the series. Its entire premise is interesting, but too bad no one gives a flip.
The Snake Pit never got a chance because the plot went too quickly. We instead got filler episodes no one wanted. Theodore Glass never even gave hints on how the Snake Pit came to be, and Boa never mentioned what living in there is like. It was just used as the back drop for Shu's descent into evilness. The entire Masked Blader arc was stupid too; it served as almost for nothing, an we never here of those poor Masked Bladers ever again.
I like the Snake Pit, but we got a really bad plot pacing. Season Two was at the point it could've been awesome, but the series's pacing ruined it. The writers were just rushing in to make Spryzen Requiem a cash cow Bey, rather than paying attention to the storyline.
Obviously, there are more problems, but these three concerning the series make me the most ticked off.
