Disclaimer: I am in no way bashing the concept of Yaoi and Yuri itself, nor am I condoning unhealthy expectations that the genres give off.

Okay.

I can hardly read boy x boy and girl x girl stories for the Beyblade Burst fandom. Because it inhabits the toxic vibes that Yaoi and Yuri gives off by default. There are whole explanations on this within the internet, so search that up yourself, but I will explain the problem here:

SOME BEYBURST SLASH FANFICS ON HERE ARE PURELY BAD!

Half the time it's fetishizing the LGBT+ community. It's okay to joke about it once in awhile, like how I ask the "wink wink who is on top" thing, but half the time it's girls thinking gay boy sex is cute and boys thinking lesbian sex is cute.

Also, yaoi and yuri always has the topic of "who is more masculine/feminine?" This is the side I really hate because LGBT+ RELATIONSHIPS AREN'T ALL ABOUT SEX, FOR FUCKING SAKES.

For example, in my Norman x Theodore shipfics, I don't fuck around and make Norman more girly. He still retains his cold behavior that would make him in-character, as well as tough exterior and interior that would drive him to do his best, and never stop until he has to. In fact, I try to portray a relationship that isn't 100% fluff and cutesy, given the situation.

Also, instead of thinking "Is Valt top or bottom uwu uwu and Shu is on top eh?" during the entire writing process, try to think "How can I make Valt and Shu's relationship work out well?" type of thing (this is an example that can be applied to other ships).

For fuck's sake, stop applying heteronormativity in slash fics. Not every gay ship or relationship has a more feminine/masculine lover. Yaoi and Yuri gives off this impression, which teaches fans that gay relationships always have to resemble straight ones

Yeah, I don't make sense but neither does this entire shit
