Bruh literally they can be found in any fandom, but uh... BeyBurst has it worse.
Yes, I like ships just as much as the next person. No, it is never okay to harass users because of it. You should not pester a writer to ALWAYS write about your favorite ship. You should never get angry when someone ships something else, such as Shu x Wakiya instead of Shu x Valt (that is, unless you're trying to knock some sense into someone who ships pedo/incest/gross shit). Stop reminding people that you like a certain ship by overhyping it.
I mean, there's a lot to explain. That's why I will explain below:
Shoving ships everywhere
Sissies and bros, stop shoving your ships EVERYWHERE and forcing it on others! Just because someone doesn't ship a certain thing doesn't mean you can try to "change their mind" forcibly. Yes, it might take time and they might change their mind over time. No, IT IS NOT OKAY to repeatedly convert them to the ship fandom as if that was a religion.
That includes harassing writers and artists. If they wrote about Shu x Valt once, leave them be or ask for another one RESPECTFULLY. No crying your ass off because they declined your request. No DMing them or threatening them until they fall into your desires.
Thinking everything equals relationship or ship
Not everything equals relationship confirmed or means that the writer/artist ships something. For example, they may be commissioned to draw Sisco x Free but does not ship it themselves.
And that includes in-fanfic examples. Some fans take things way too far. They literally see their ship in everything they see! Even when it's innocent and not intended to be romantic or relationship-wise.
For example, Character A is being nice to Character B, but that does not always indicate love or shit, unless the writer intended for it to be ship tease. Please, I thought a lot of people grew out of the mindset of Oh he's so nice so maybe he likes X!!! This is also a case for the CANON series too. Shu and Valt may be best friends, but that doesn't mean you can ship them most of the time. However, you are allowed to because it is reasonable (and that Law of Fictional Fandoms state that since their sexualities is not revealed, you are allowed to), but just don't overhype it or make it unrealistic (see next section).
Hate to say it, but that is not how it works most of the time. My enemy saying "thank you" to me does not mean he likes me. That mindset does not give you a boyfriend or girlfriend or whateverfriend, and neither is it helpful to writers.
You see, this is why so many boy in real life hate humanity. They cannot be best friends with a boy without an idiot thinking, Omg they're gay so let me ship them! They cannot be best friends with a girl without another idiot thinking, Cutest couple I love them so much when they're a couple uwu uwu uwu uwu 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰.
Yeah, I know, some of you who are offended at this might not realize you seem more stupid than you think you are.
Overhyping ships and making them unrealistic???
Bruh, why is it that I see Shu x Valt ship stories where Shu is like, extra romantic to Valt in public? Where everyone can see them?? That's not how he acts, regardless of whether he is a romance guy or not. Why is it that fangirls are desperate to see PDA or excessive romantic characteristics at the wrong time, and regardless of how the character is?
If any of you have been in a real relationship, you know that personalities VARY according to how they act outside love and relationships. For instance, whereas I can handle and occasionally enjoy Rated M things, I consider myself quite shy in public and wouldn't let my ex-boyfriend kiss me. Him, however, is a huge flirtass and likes to show his horniness and affection. Outside that, he's just a pretty weird guy in general.
But anyway, my point is, people are not usually entirely different in romance. They do not often have split personalities labeled NORMAL and LOVEY DOVEY. Their personalities carry on into romantic relationships.
What not to do: Writing Shu excessively flirty and always going "COME ON BABEY VALT OWO OWO I LOVE YOU PLEASE WIN FOR ME 😘." The reason why many people like him is that he is CALM and LEVEL-HEADED, and is always behaves appropriately at the right time. Making him excessively out of character because he's dating is a huge turn-off, and does not suit him. Neither will making him throw roses dramatically work too.
What to do: Because Shu is a calm character, he knows his limits. He can give Valt kisses at school when no one is looking, and won't make a big deal out of it. When his parents are away, he calmly cooks food for Valt to try. In public, he does not bring attention to his relationship, and keeps things calm.
Anyways, guys. PLEASE keep characters in character. And please don't assume everything equals a ship. And please don't annoy people with your ships, mmkay?
