i zoned out. cleo is dead. i looked at the girls. i looked at the stairs. the figure appeared. they were brandishing the knife they had used on cleo. i felt a pang in my heart.
i reached out and hit him in the face. the knife slashed my arm as i did it.
"ahH" i let out.
i hit him again. over and over. he fell to the floor. i stopped, to see if he was out.
i carefully took the knife from him, and took off the black mask covering his face. i knew it. i fucking knew it.

i took a picture, as evidence. the girls were silent.
"lets go, before he wakes up." i grabbed laiyas hand, and dragged her up the stairs. noone said anything. once we reached the top, i lifted the ledge, and climbed out. i helped the others out.
we stood there for a sec after we were all out. i reached out and flicked the latch shut.
"he should be stuck now" i said. "we should leave" i said. i check my phone and it was 2:30.
"can i see cleo first?" gabi asked. it was bad.
"i dont think you want to gab" elle said. "but i got her necklace" she said, stroking gabis arm.
i opened the door to my room. i immediately shut it.
"what was that for?" laiya asked. she went to open the door.
"no laiya" i said. she reached for the handle.
"i want to get out of this hellhole" she said. i glared at her.
she opened the door. i heard a gasp escape her lips. she started full on crying and froze.
"elysia." she whispered. elysia was lying, dead, on the floor. she mimicked the way cleo was. so thats who was screaming.
"guys, lets go please! i dont fancy looking like that in a few" elle said, sounding panicked.
"neither." gabi said, and went to the door. she looked at me.
"its the only way out danny." she said. but it will scar them. especially elle.
"fine." i said. gabi opened the door. a sob escaped elle, and i went over to comfort her.
"wait," laiya said. "whats this?" she stood up, holding something. i opened her fingers. it was a bracelet.
a very familiar bracelet.

flashback
"i made it for you" i said. i handed her the bracelet.
"awh danny!" her voice made my heart flutter. she hugged me. tight. i kissed her forehead.
"do you like it?" i asked.
"i love it." she said.
"it even has my name on it!" she said, running her fingers over the letters, spelling her name in purple thread.

"i made it for her when we were dating." i said, as i felt the blood drain from my face.
"when you were whaT?" gabi asked. her face was on fire.
"chill gab, i already knew. it was a while back" laiya comforted her. ok but that was hot. she looks so good when shes angry.
"but why would she have it now?" elle asked.
"i dont know. maybe to convince me. but i could ask the same about why she was here in the first place." i said. we stood there, processing our thoughts, when we heard a rattle from gabis room.
