we all knew to go into avas room. we all rushed in and shut the door behind us. quietly. i looked around. i had never been in avas room before. it was really nice, it had the same layout as dannys room. does that mean there are bunkers?
danny had the same thought, as he went over and looked for a latch.
"negative" he said.
"shh!" gabi paused. she went to the door to listen.
"you hear that?" she whispered. i went over. a dragging sound.
"he must be getting rid of elysias body" i said. thats something i never thought id be saying. i stood back. this was all too much. i collapsed on the bed. it made a squeak.
fuck.
everyones head turned to me. gabi glared. i stood up carefully. i didnt want to move. i heard footsteps at the door. FUCK. danny scanned the room for places to hide.
he had opened the closet door, when the door to avas room swung open.
defeated.
danny looked up. his face sank. gabi tackled elle to the other side of the room. she grabbed me from over the bed. danny walked over to kio.
"so this is where you came?" kio spoke up.
"where else were we supposed to go?" danny said back.
"out the fucking front door" kio said. before danny could reply, kio reached out and grabbed him, dragging him out. danny clutched onto the doorframe.
he looked at me.
"i love you" he mouthed.
"i love you" i mouthed back, tears streaming down my face.
kio reached back and slashed his hand with the knife, causing him to cry out and let go.
he disappeared into the house somewhere. i lay my head back onto the wall. i put my hands over my head, and cried.
this whole thing was a disaster.
gabi and elle tried to comfort me.
"whats the time?" i asked through my tears.
"2:30" gabi replied, getting her phone out.
"im tired" elle said, closing her eyes.
"dont sleep." gabi said, shaking her.
"we need to get danny" i said.
"ok. lets go. but we need to be careful ok?" gabi said. "i dont want my guts torn open thanks"
we all stood up. the door was open, but i couldnt see danny or kio anywhere. i went up to the door. i poked my head out.
"careful laiya." gabi warned me. my heart was beating so fucking fast. this is insane. gabi handed me avas old hockey stick, while she brandished a baseball bat. elle didnt have a weapon.
gabi pushed past me.
"lets go" she said. she had a fierce look on her face. she exited her sisters room, and walked out into the hall. elysias body was gone, leaving a pool of blood soaked into the carpet.
my heart ached as i imagined that being danny. i swallowed my tears, and gripped the hockey stick harder. i got a rush of confidence.
"GIVE HIM BACK OR I'LL KILL YOU MYSELF" i shouted. gabis head spun around. she smiled at me.
"atta girl" she whispered.
kio appeared from one of the spare rooms downstairs, holding danny. his head was hung low. i focused my eyes, trying not to faint. i made my way over to the stairs, my eyes glued to kio.
i stood in front of kio, a few feet away.
"laiya no" danny said. i swung, and whacked kio round the head. hard. but he didnt pass out.
"little girl, youre going to have to try harder than that." kio said, patronisingly.
"calling me little? first elysia, now you. and we both know how elysia ended up." i said. something came over me. thats not like me.
gabi scoffed from upstairs. i looked up at her. i smiled, so did she.
"who says youre not going to end up like that first?" kio said. i looked at him, confused. i was about to reply when i felt kio punch me in the face. i cried out and dropped the hockey stick, staggering to the side. i leant against the wall. my head was spinning. i closed my eyes and put my hand on my head.
"laiya no!" danny said, trying to get out of kios grip. i sank to the floor in pain.
"look at you, little girl. on your knees." kio said. this was not the guy gabi made out with? how?
"does she get on her knees for you, or just me?" kio asked danny.
