Chapter 21

C.J had to stay in the hospital for two more days after he woke up. Now me, aunt Storm, Dan, Tyler and Sage are on our way to pick him up. Yeah I know why is Sage coming? Well he is Cloud’s brother after all and besides the others wanted to come, but I told aunt Storm only Sage and no one else was to come. So naturally she took my side, considering they didn’t even know he was there in the first place.

“Finally you guys got here,” C.J yelled with relief, “you know for a moment I thought you forgot about me and that I,” he stop talking when he saw Sage standing right behind me.

I don’t blame him for stopping in mid-sentence, since this was the brother that stole money from him when he was only a small child and too naive to believe that his brother would do such a thing to him. That and the fact he only saw Tyler, Dan and his mom before turning his back to get his bag of stuff we had given to him during his stay here.

“What is he doing here?”

“Now don’t be like that Cloud, he’s your brother after all,” aunt Storm was the only one to ever say his name out loud without getting hit for it.

“I don’t care, he’s still a thief, and backstabbing mother-”

“Finish that sentence young man and you’ll be staying in this room for few more days,” aunt Storm cut him off, “well I signed you out, get your stuff so we can go already.” With that Cloud’s eyes lit up and was out the door in the blink of an eye, leaving us to laugh, even with Sage in the room.

“DAMN IT!” I kicked the side my desk and stubbed my toe. Jumping up and down from the pain, as if that would do any good and tripping over a box of books landing with a ‘thump’.

“Ouchy,” I didn’t even bother getting up, but I could hear the pounding on the floor and the door swinging open.

“Zeke, what’s wrong?” C.J came running and kneeled beside me since I lifted my body off the floor.

“I can’t find my diploma and I need to send a copy of my high school diploma. If I don’t have it in by the end of this month, I won’t be able to attend university,” I sighed with frustration.

“Well I’ll help you find it, it’s got to be around here somewhere,” Cloud started to look through my boxes. The boxes filled with my stuff.

During his coma, I was packing my stuff that I was going to take, the rest I was going to sell. My soon to be old room was bare. It was empty like my heart, but not quite like my head. It was filled with nothing, but Stryker.

We searched for hours and still nothing. I mean we basically turned this house inside out. Where the hell is it?

I heard music ring out in the living room. It can’t be me I haven’t been paying for minutes for my phone.

“Hello!” I heard Cloud talk from the kitchen and made his way back into the living room. He was still listening to whoever was on the other line.

“Yeah, I know, but he’s kind of hard to get out of the house,” what is he talking about?

“I would, if I could, but we are trying to find his diploma,” he was quiet again, “I don’t know the last time I saw it was when we were back at the school.”

After he said that Cloud’s voice fade into the background I was hit with a sudden realization. I left it at the school, but not without help. I was punched by Jake then I dropped it on the floor. I was so worry about Cloud that I forgot to pick it up from the floor and it landed right in front of Stryker.
