Breaking The Ice (SonAmy)

Chapter 1

"Amy, sweetie. There's a customer." A sweet voice called.

"On it!" Amy replied as she quickly made her way to the new customer.

Ms. Vanilla watched her from behind the counter with a gentle smile plastered on her face. Amy is like a daughter to her. She's been a huge help ever since she decided to open her cafe. She help her fix everything which she knows, she couldn't have done without her.

"Hello Ms. Vanilla." Amy smiled as soon as she took the orders from the customer. "An order of a slice of Cheese Cake and Coffee Vanilla Cake with a Frappuchino and Black coffee."

"Okay." Ms. Vanilla nod before she turn around repeating the order at the baker in the kitchen, Vector.

"I haven't seen Cream." Amy frown a little.

"Oh, that angel. She's been inside the house. Doing her school work." Ms. Vanilla said.

"How was the school treating her?" Amy asked.

"Well. Based on her stories. Everyone has been treating her very well. She got a star on her school project. I'm so proud." Ms. Vanilla said overwelmed with happiness.

"I'm sure you are, Ms. Vanilla." Amy smiled.

"Order up!" Vector yelled from behind.

"Here you go." Ms. Vanilla brought the tray of desserts to Amy. "Careful."

"Always." Amy winked bringing the orders to the customer.

"See you tomorrow Ms. Vanilla! Say hi to Cream for me! Bye bye Vector!" Amy waved, exiting the cafe.

She doesn't have that much friends in her curent place. But she's trying her best. Although, living alone is kinda sad. Still, she's managing everything on her own.

"That's all for today." Sonic said. "Dismiss." He added closing his laptop.

"That was a wonderful meeting bro." Knuckles grinned, punching Sonic's arm playfully.

"Hey. I'm still your boss." Sonic said rolling his eyes.

"Yeah. Yeah. So, you ready for later?" Knuckles grinned wider this time.

"I'll check if i still have some work to do." Sonic said collecting all his things and leaving the room with Knuckles behind him.

"What? Come on Sonic. You know you can take a little break." Knuckles scowled walking side by side with Sonic.

"You know i can't, right? This contract signing will be another amount of paper works." Sonic replied not looking at him.

"Make your secretary do the work!" Knuckles suggest.

"No. She's doing half of my work. And this documents are supposively private." Sonic said, openning his office door. "But i do appreciate your concern Knucks. I would love to join you, although this is not just the right time. Also, go back to your work or i'll lessen your monthly check." And leave the fumming red echidna behind.

As the door closes behind him. Sonic shook his head slightly.

Knuckles is like his right hand. Although, he is still much older than him.

Being the only child of the clan. He expected that everything will be passed down on him. He thought this can make him happy. But years had passed. He lost the enjoyment he used to feel due to all his responsibilities. Everything must go to plan. Everything must be perfect.

But now, he got what he wanted. It felt like some things are missing.

Sonic sigh and look out to the giant window he has with a great view of the city's skyscraper. He stood tall professionally as he thought about everything. He got a lot of friends. But few are his close ones. He can buy whatever he wants. But he still feel so empty.

"Maybe i'm just tired." He said to himself.

Suddenly, a knock break the silence.

"Come in." He said and sat down on his office chair.

"Mr. Sonic. I've finished the files you told me to check. Everything seems to be fine. There's also a document that you need to sign." Sally said as she walked in his office and placing all the files on his table.

"What about it?" Sonic asked, not looking up as he browse throught the pages.

"Mr. Eric said that its about the deal for his branch at London." Sally answered as she stood formally in front of him.

"I see." Sonic mumbled. "You may now go. I will call you if i needed any help."

"Of course, Mr. Sonic." Sally bowed slightly and turn to exit his office, but stopped on her tracks and looked back at him. "Please dont tire yourself. I will worry." She said and shut the door.

Sonic sigh for the nth time that day. Everytime his secretary enter his room to talk to him. He never failed to catch the signs she's been sending him. He knew his secretary likes him, thats why he always rush to dismiss her. He doesnt want to deal with that kind of stuff.
