Breaking The Ice (SonAmy)

Chapter 21

"Stop blaming yourself. I did this on my own. It's my choice." Amy said as she lift an arm and caress Sonic's cheek. "I just want you to stop hating the only person who raised you. I mean, sure, he doesn't want me to be with you. But, i know someday he'll accept me, seeing his grandchild happy."

"Amy.." Sonic sighed.

"I heard that you starve yourself." She said worriedly.

"I decided to focus on you. And only you. If you're not ready. I won't force you. I will never ever touch another woman again." Sonic said gently.

"Sonic. I know the truth now. You need to do it. E-even if it pains me. I don't want you to starve yourself." Amy said worriedly.

8:00 o'clock in the evening. Sonic has been staying with Amy inside the hospital, refusing to leave.

He wanted to make sure she's fine. Now, sitting on a chair while holding Amy's hand. He stared at her deeply. "I've devoted myself to you, Amy. I will wait for you."

"Sonic.." Amy mumbled as she teared up.

"I love you."

Hearing those words made his heart skip a beat.

Love.

He always thought love is a ridiculous thing and he wouldn't waste his time on it. But having someone who loves you for who you are and is willing to fight right beside you is worth it. He never knew he'd feel what he thought he wouldn't.

"I love you too."

He replied hugging Amy tight.

"I promise to protect you. Take care of you and never lie to you." He release her from his embrace and look directly to her eyes.

Slowly, he lean forward, kissing her fully on her lips.

"Hmm.."

Amy wrapped her arms around his neck as she kissed him back. Feeling his arms wrapped around her waist.

Soon they stopped to breathe.

"Amy. I cannot give you a child." Sonic mumbled.

"It's okay. As long as we're together. I am happy."

Years have passed.

Amy is now fully recovered.

Sonic offered Amy to live with him to his place. He also offered to sustain her needs for her school which Amy gently declined. 

Instead, she live with him. She let him help her on her studies making her surprise of the things he knew. 

He cook for her, help her brush her hair and even go to their very first bath together, wherein he found her shy side adorable.

A mortal life won't last long, he knew that. That is why he spend every second he can with her to create fresh memories he will cherish forever. He know he can't give her a family she wanted. But he'd make sure she'll never feel being unloved by him.

He knew, the ice inside him is breaking.

All thanks to her.
