Chapter 19

"But. Why are you against me and Sonic's relation? Because i am a mortal?" Amy frowned.

"I will be honest with you. Yes. I wanted him to marry an immortal like us. So she can lead the company with him. I do not hate you my child. I am only concern for the future." He sighed while looking away.

"But it's Sonic decision. You can't just tell him to break up with me or separate us." She said as she kept her gaze on him.

"Sigh."

A knock suddenly cut them off.

"Sir."

"Come in." Venric ordered.

"We have an unexpected visitor."

"Grandfather has Amy!!" Sonic growled.

"Anger can't help you with anything, Sonic." Shadow scowled as he watched his brother sitting on a bench while shake with anger.

"It's Amy we're talking about here! If he tried harming her, I won't hesitate killing him!" Sonic growled dangerously.

"So-!"

Hearing a familiar voice, Sonic looked up from his sitting position. "Knuckles, Rouge." He said.

"W-who's this?" Knuckles asked while starring at Shadow.

"This is my brother. Shadow the Hedgehog." Sonic sighed. "This is Rouge and Knuckles. My trusted one in the company."

"Ohhh. A hottie." Rouge smirked.

"I am here." Knuckles growled.

"Ooppsie. My bad." Rouge giggled.

"Why are you letting yout aura leak like that? Are you out of your mind?" Knuckles growled.

"It is none of your concern." Sonic replied coldly.

"It is. We're demons too and we're concern about your safety." Rouge said crossing her arms. "What made you so mad anyway?"

"Because of a certain lady." Sonic said looking away.

"What? Since when do you care about ladies?" Knuckles asked raising an imaginary eyebrow.

"Since he enter a serious relationship." Shadow replied with his eyes closed and arms crossed.

"What?" Rouge gasp. "Him?"

"We're going to grandfather's house. And i will never leave without her." Sonic said standing up.

Shadow only shook his head.

"I didn't expect you to visit me at this late hour, Sonic." Venric said not facing him.

"Where is she?" Sonic growled.

"Wow. Your bathroom looks really fancy, grand-. Sonic?" Amy blinked.

"Amy!" Ignoring his grandfather. Sonic dashes to her and hug her tight. "You scared me." He said.

"I'm sorry." Amy said hugging back.

"Are you hurt? Did he hurt you?"

"No, no. We just talked." Amy smiled. Seeing this side of Sonic was making her feel warm.

"And i didn't also expect you to step a foot in here." Venric suddenly said.

With his blazing red eyes, Shadow showed himself to him old guardian. "I didn't also expect myself to be here." Shadow said.

"What makes you think you can step a foot in here?"

"Enough with the chitchat, grandfather." Shadow glare. "I came here to help Sonic bring Rose back. I didn't come here to waste my time talking to you."

"You're still disrespectful."

"If i am. Then i would be stepping on your portrait all the way from here. But i didn't. So shut up." Shadow lean against the door frame and turn his gaze to Amy.

"Do not fight." Amy frowned. "You're all related and yet you're qt each other's throat." She said releasing herself from Sonic's arms.

"Amy, this person is trying to kill you. How can you still protect him?" Sonic scowled at her.

"Because i know he cares for the both of you. He let Shadow leave because that's his desire. To live a normal life like me. He tried spending his time for you because your parents died while you're still young." Amy said getting everyone's attention. "He tried hiding his true self to be a good guardian for the both of you."

Shadow and Sonic went quiet.

"Venric loves the both of you and was only concern for your future. But, until he talked to me. He realize how wrong he was on controlling the both of you."

"What do you know about us, anyway?" Sonic growled. "We may be his grandchild, but i won't ever forget when he tried killing us for a money. For his beloved company."

"I know the fact that all of the people i am here with are demons!" Amy shouted.

"What?" Shadow growled. "You told her?!"

"Why would you do that?!" Sonic pipped in.

"She deserves to know for she is your girlfriend. And she deserves to know. You can't keep lying to her." Venric snarled.

"What else does she know?! How our parents died?! How miserable i am! Huh?!" Sonic yelled showing his growing fangs. "I am handling everything very well until you make your way in! You are an old man and you can't do anything now but to rest!"

Shadow, who's behind Sonic was controlling his anger. He didn't want this. He didn't want everything to go this way.

Knuckles and Rouge who's watching the scene are amazingly quiet.

"I am your superior! Don't you raise your voice to me like that!" Venric shouted.

"You've crossed the line old man. I've had enough of your nasty attitude!"

Sonic turned himself into his demon form and about to attack Venric.

"I am going to kill you!"

Pulling out a gun from his coat. He pointed it to Venric.

"After all. It's your purification period, right?" Sonic smiled. "Farewell."

Shadow didn't stop his brother's decision.

As soon as he pull the trigger, shooting his grandfather. Amy quickly rushed her way in front of Venric, taking the bullet.
