Breaking The Ice (SonAmy)

Chapter 14

"I would like to ask you something." Sonic mumbled while walking side by side with Amy.

"Hm? What is it about?" she asked while eating a cup of ice cream.

"It is about your friend. Shadow." Sonic said looking away.

"Are you going to be one of those people who kept telling me that i like him? Ugh. I'm used to but i see him as a friend okay." Amy said pouting making Sonic chuckle.

"My apologies."

"Sir."

"Ah Edward. My trusted one. You seem to have a sudden visit." Sonic's grandfather exclaim.

"I have something important to tell you." Edward said.

"My, my. You sound so serious. Why don't you take a seat." Sonic's grandfather smiled and motion Edward to sit while he took a bottle of wine beside his bookshelf and two glasses.

"This is about your grandson." Edward growled.

"Hm. And that is?" Not looking up, Sonic's grandfather pour the wine into the glasses and gave one to Edward.

"Thank you, Sir." Edward nod.

"So, what is it about my grandson?" He smiled showing all the wrinkles on his face.

"It seems like there is a humor, your grandson dating a mortal." Edward said looking straightly at him.

"I'm sure he's just playing around. We all know his attitude." Sonic's grandfather laughed out loud.

"What if he's not?" Edward asked seriously.

"Edward. We, incubus, see the female mortals like a walking meat. That is why i am not alarmed. Sonic is just playing around."

"Thank you. For taking me out. Its been awhile since i last visited the theme park!" Amy giggled.

"It is my pleasure, Amy." Sonic said smiling a little.

"Why did you ask me out, anyway? I mean. We just met." Amy blinked.

"I've been eyeing you for a while now. And i seem to have lost all my chances due to my work." Sonic explained.

"Oh. But what about Sally?"

Sonic eyes darkened. "She's nothing but my secretary. I have been rejecting her over and over. She kept insisting."

"Well. Maybe she might really like you that much." Amy smiled.

"You're not jealous?" Sonic asked looking at her.

"Why would i be? We just started dating. And ever since you two ate at Ms. Vanilla's Cafe. I thought you two were dating." Amy giggled.

"She's been asking me out of dates. The one you saw us in the cafe was to get her off my shoulder." Sonic said looking ahead. "Anyway."

"Hm?" Amy hummed.

"About Shadow." Sonic started. "I know him."

This made Amy stop. "Was that the reason why every time you two meet at the cafe, there's a heavy tension between you two." She scowled.

"He's my elder brother." 

"What?!" Amy, with a shocked face stare at him. "Bo-brother?!"

"Ah."

"Why did you do that?!" Shadow growled at Sonic who seems to be not bothered with his outburst. 

"To let her know that she can be comfortable  with me too." Sonic stated.

"You take her out, and you think i didn't know." Shadow growled.

"How?" Sonic scowled at him.

"I masked my aura, even my scent. Knowing that you can easily locate where i am."
