"You're siding with an immortal?" Sonic said raising an imaginary eyebrow.
"Aren't you?" Shadow smirked they both made their way to the entrance of a bar.
Looking around, they saw a two empty chair and headed that way. As soon as they reach the seats, the bartender approached them immediately.
"What can i get you two?" he said.
"Two Long Island Tex. Less ice." Sonic answered.
"I heard you stopped toying around women. What an unexpected surprise." Shadow said not looking at him.
"After you left the clan. Grandfather forced me to lead the company, making me the new leader." Sonic said seriously as the bartender bring their drinks to them.
"Hmph. They all knew i never want to lead the clan." Shadow glared.
"You're 813 years old now."
"What did i tell you keeping this in private." Shadow said coldly.
"My apologies." Sonic said.
Flashback
"Shadow. I called you to pass the leadership. In my age. I don't think i can protect our clan like you can."
"We discussed this before, grandfather. I never wanted to be the clan's leader." Shadow growled.
"You are the eldest. It is your responsibility. If you refuse. You will never be acknowledged as part of the clan!"
"Then so be it!" Shadow growled out. The window glass cracked while the lights flicker above them. He left his grandfather behind while trying to decrease his demonic aura before he destroy more things.
Out of nowhere, a blue color caught his eyes. Turning his head, he saw his younger brother hiding in one of the curtain.
"Sonic. What are you doing here?" He asked calmly trying not to frighten his brother.
"Are you and grandfather fighting? I dont want you two to fight." Sonic quietly mumbled looking up at his brother.
At this time, Sonic was only 87 years old and Shadow was 300 years old.
"Its okay. We're not fighting." Shadow smiled a bit.
"Really?" Sonic said wiping away a tear.
"You shouldn't let anyone see you cry. It will make them think you are weak." Shadow chuckled.
"I'm not weak! I want to be strong like you!"
