Leo & Darcy - 26 & 16 <3

L E O

"They're definitely at home?" I ask my brother as the taxi pulls into the bottom of our driveway as our gates close behind us.

"Yes, they both had their sports but they'll be back now."

I nod, zipping up my coat to combat the crisp, autumn air as we get out of the taxi and grab our suitcases before thanking our driver.

We walk up the gravelled driveway, under our line of trees and flowers planted up to our home. I look up, and see the twin's bedroom has lights on.

We knock on our dark oak varnished door and wait for the inevitable footsteps.

"Good to be back, bro," Luke claps my back and I agree.

"No fancy hotel quite equates to being the same as our private nook."

The door opens and a loud squeal cuts the silence, "you're back, you're back!" Darcy jumps into my waiting arms and I spin her gently around, hugging her tight.

"I missed you, baby girl," I put her down and cup her face, kissing her head before she is turned around by Luke, wrapping his arms around her tightly, asking how she is.

"You're back!" I look up to Lucy excitedly running out of the house and me and Luke both laugh, the twins are not only so alike in looks, being identical twins, but in all their mannerisms and little ways, too.

"Hey Lu," She jumps into my arms and I easily catch her, my face immediately covered by her wild, long curls.

"I missed you guys," she hugs me tight, her arms around my neck. "I thought you weren't coming back until tomorrow?"

I put her down, "I know, we tricked you, huh."

She grins, "it was a nice trick," and I laugh, moving her hair gently away from her face.

Luke coughs behind Lucy and she giggles before turning around and embracing him, too.

Tom comes out and greets us both, and helps us bring our bags in.

Immediately I make my way to my room to put my suitcase and travel luggage in there. I then walk down the upstairs hallway to place my work bag into our home office which used to be Tom's old room but now it houses two desks, a big whiteboard, shelves, a bookcase and countless family photos including some very precious ones of everyone when they were a lot younger.

I smile, noticing Lucy has her macbook, school books and pens littered over one of the desks, usually the desk I use.

We have lunch together and catch up on everything we have missed.

I let out a long sigh, emphasising the boredom I am in. Tom left yesterday afternoon and the house is quiet and everything is back to the undramatic normal.

I rhythmically bounce my shoe against the counter wall.

"I'm trying to concentrate, Darce."

"This is so stupid," I pick up my phone and absent mindlessly scroll through my Instagram despite only doing that a few minutes ago.
