Chapter 18

Hazel's POV

"Hazel Grace...." Augustus says. I look up at him. His face looks like he's about to tear up and yet at the same time it looks stone cold.

"We have to talk."

"About what?" I ask him curiosity in my voice.

"You've been living in a lie."

"What do you mean?" I ask getting more serious.

"Hazel Grace...." He pauses. i stare at him wanting to know more and more about what he's talking about.

"I'm.....I'm....I'm not real." He says. I stare at him wide eyes. What?!?! I thought to myself. How....I swear I saw him that one day at Support Group. I can't find my words. How....what....why is all I can think.

"I...I..I...I saw you.....on the one day at Support Group.....I went to your house....." I say when I finally find the words.

"I know...I don't know how...or why?..." I can't find my words. It seems like someone punched me over and over again until I couldn't breathe. I can't wrap my mind around this!!! This isn't true it can't be. It's impossible.... I look over at Gus and see that he is starting to get tears in his eyes. I can see my vision start to blurry too.

"Gus....." I say with sadness in my voice. "Please don't leave me...." Salty wet tears start to roll down my face.

"I'm sorry Hazel Grace....but I have too......" I lean on him and start to ball.

"Please don't leave me...Please don't leave me....Please don't leave me..." I keep pleading. He gets up and my head falls on the couch. He turns to look at me. Tears cover his face.

"I'm sorry." He says. He walks towards the door and opens it then walks out. I get up and start weeping and running. Being a pregnant lady running isn't quite easy. I fall to my knees not injuring my belly. I cry the hardest I've ever cried.

"Gus..please come back.." I say between sobs. "Please come back...."
