Harry's POV

The delicious smell of spice and bread is what got me to open my eyes, I hadn't known how long I had been sleeping. Working seven days straight really got to me, all I wanted to do was get home and eat. Once I had done that, I immediately passed out. I just missed her, she is what kept me going through each and every night as I went to risk my life. I laid there for a bit, trying to confirm if I wanted to sleep more or if I wanted to actually get up out of bed. Stretching my tired muscles, I finally got out of bed and stumbled to the bathroom to go take a shower.

"It smells really good in here", I finally spoke making her jump.

"I didn't know you were up, you scared me", she giggled placing her hand over her heart.

"What time is it", I walked up to her and pulled her body to mine.

"4:30, late afternoon", she shrugged wrapping her arms around me.

"Wow! What time did I go to sleep yesterday", I asked.

"I don't know, I merely fed you and then I didn't see you the rest of the night", she laughed.

"Where did you sleep", I asked not sure if she actually came to bed.

"In the guest room, that way you had plenty of rest and room", she smiled.

"Tonight you sleep with me, I've missed you too much", I nuzzled into her neck making her giggle.

"What are you baking", I asked referring to the wonderful smells that lingered in the house.

"Marble pound cake. It's almost done", she smiled at me.

The rest of the event was spent by my wife's side. I had missed her so much and she was such an angel to put up with me and my super crazy schedule. She loved me unconditionally and supported me as I followed my dreams. I could never repay her for the unconditional love that she gave to me. This was our life though, the life of being a firefighter.

"Hello", I answered my ringing cellphone.

"Yes, yes sir. I understand sir, I'll be there", we said our goodbyes as I hung up with my fire captain.

"When do you back?", she asked already knowing who it was.

"Not for another day", I looked at her.

"Well that gives us a little time with each other", she smiled.
