Harry's POV

I sighed as I continued to make my way to the firehouse, I absolutely loved what I do.  Do not get me wrong, what Maverick and Cruz did for me was something I don't think I could ever repay them for. They gave me something I never had back in England, they gave me a career and a future. Everything I have I owe to them, but there were downsides to the job. Much like everything else, like being away from my wife. I hated to be away from her, I loved her with everything I have and I being away from her just made me miss her so much more. I finally saw the fire hose come into view and a little smile made it's way to my face thinking about the boys that consider family.

"Styles! You're back!!", Luke called out to me as I got out of my truck.

"Yeah, I'm here for the next 3 days", I sighed as I took out my duffle bag.

"How's the misses? I'm sure he was happy to see you", Luke wiggled his brows.

"She fine Luke", I said annoyed. Luke always had a thing for Y/n. I always had a twinge of jealously whenever he asked for her.

My wife was quite a catch, I remember the first day I had saw her. She literally took my breath away and I knew the first day I had saw I had to have her. Since then I have never ever let her go.

"Hello son", Maverick greeted me.

"Hello Sir", I smiled at him.

"I've told you son, please just call me Maverick", he sighed and rolled his eyes.

"I'm sorry", I smiled at him apologetic.

"How is your misses?", he asked asked as I put my stuff away.

"She's good, I just feel bad that I had to leave her", I said sadly.

"You'll see her before you know it", Maverick tried to comfort me.

"I know", I smiled back at him.

Maverick nodded me to follow him, soon we were handling chores around the fire house. Restocking things and cleaning stuff up, waiting for fate to call us out to do a job only the brave could do. Instinctively as I sat in our lounge reading book and rubbing the cross my wife gave me on the first birthday I had spent with her as a couple. Secretly I always thought it gave me devine protection, especially from her. Then as I knew it would, the alarm bells sounded. Letting us know it was time to do what we did best.
