Berk Vampire Academy Pt. 1 & 2

Chapter 7

The next morning, the atmosphere around the school was tense. Everyone was trying to avoid me and if I catch them looking at me they look the other way. Even Fishlegs was avoiding me, but I don't really blame him. What happened last night was not normal, and that's saying something with people like us.

I haven't heard from my dad since last night. Which is good, because I don't really want to talk to him right now. I've seen gobber once today but that's it.

I grabbed my history book from my locker and slammed the door. Standing behind it was snotlout.

Not now

"What do you want Snotlout?, "I asked. I lifted my bag on my shoulder and started walking away.

"I want to know what happened last night?, "he asked, following me.

"None of your business,"I hissed.

"Come on hiccup. Where all friends here, we just want to know what's going on "he urged. I stopped hastily. Took a deep breath and continued.

"Nothing that concerns you, "I say. I enter history and take my seat up the back. Snotlout goes to his seat.

Class starts and for once I was actually paying attention.

"Now who can tell me how a ritual Viking funeral was held, "the teacher asked. Only about 5 people put up there hands.

"Mr. Haddock, "he asked me. Everyone's attention was towards me now.

"Um... They would put the deceased on a ship and light it on fire by the village shooting arrows at it. Then a person of the Chiefs choice says the ceremonially goodbye, "I explain.

He stares at me with a mix of shock and pride on his face. "Well done Mr. Haddock that was correct. Now..."

The bell then goes. Everyone packs up and leaves. I was the last one out. Next was training, but since I have a week of no training I go and grab toothless and take him for a walk.

We walk into the Forest. I came across the clearing I was at the last night. There was still dent marks from when I punched the tree. Toothless goes over to the little pond and grabs a drink. But then his ears perk up and he starts growling.

"Bud, what's wrong? "I ask. He doesn't do anything. He only keeps looking back and forth.

"Bud?,"I suddenly takes of running.

"Toothless, wait!" I yell. I ran for about 10 minutes before I found him. As I could hear puffing and grunting noises. What I saw made me head off. Toothless had astrid pinned to the ground.

"Haddock get this thing off, of me, "She growled.

"Now would I do that?, "I teased. She glared at me.

"If you don't, I will slight your throat, "she threatened. I only stared at her.

She could try

"Toothless, off, "I command which he obeys. sits next to me protectively. Good boy, I whisper in his ear. His tail wags lightly.

"What is that thing?, "astrid asks dusting her self of.

"First off he's a he not a 'thing. And secondly he's a wolf, "I tell her. She just roles her eyes.

"What are you doing out here?, "she asks.

"I could ask you the same thing, "I retort. "Aren't you meant to be at training." "He let me off. "

She shrugs "I'm his best student, so it won't effect my grades."

"Whatever, "I mumble. I then start walking face towards the academy.

"Hey, I'm not done talking to you yet, "she yells running after me.

"Yea, well, i am, "I yell back.

"Haddock, get back here, "she growls.

"Sure. If you can catch me. "I then speed off towards the academy grounds. She chases after me. She's fast but not fast enough. I just got to the court yard when she snagged my ankle and tripped me up. I fall down onto my back, She straddled me, pinning my arms down with her knees. Unfortunately for me, she had her axe. Which was starting to get a bit to close for comfort.

"What are you doing back?, "she hisses

"It's not like I was dragged back against my own will or anything?", I say sarcastically. But she just moves her axe closer to my neck.

"You don't belong here, "she says. I roll my eyes.

Way to state the obvious

"No arguments here, "I agree. While she was distracted I was reaching down into my boot and grabbing my spare dagger.

"You ran away for 3 years, and now you decide to show up. The school went into a total melt down after you left. Your father changed. He was crueler and more demanding. He was driving us into the ground with extra training, cause of your little escape", she says. I could hear toothless growling at her. But there's no way he can hurt her without hurting me.

"No one was aloud to go out at night anymore and we all had to go straight to our dorms after classes. You were still ruining ours lives after you left. You selfish bastard, "she growled.

My eyes narrowed, and they turned stone cold. With my extra strength I managed to flip our positions so she was in the bottom now. I straddled her the same way she did, and put the dagger right up against her throat. Her eyes went wide and her breathing started to get heavier. I could literally feel her heart pounding in my ear drums.

"Hiccup get off me, "she hissed. Struggling to get out of my grip. "Your calling me selfish?" When your one of the most selfish bitches in the world. You don't give a shit about anyone, astrid. You only care about your self. All you do is train and train and train. That's all you've ever done since you joined the academy. You have no idea what I went threw out there, or here. You wouldn't even believe the pain I went through. So it's time to open your eyes and look at the real picture. Am the enemy? Or is it just in your head?, "I growled in a low, cold, threatening tone.

I then noticed that the bell went and everybody was staring at us. I could here all there thoughts. Astrid was staring at me with the one thing I thought I would never see in her eyes....fear.

I felt my eyes turn back to there normal forest green, instead of blood red. I hoped of astrid and put the dagger back in my boot.

"Toothless, "I called walking away towards my dorm.

"Are you alright astrid?, "asked ruff who was helping her best friend up. Her and the gang saw the whole conversation between the two of them.

"Yeah... I'm..., "she stuttered. She was still trying to get over the which that just happened.

"What happened?, "asked fish. Astrid didn't answer, she just kept staring "What happened?, "asked fish. Astrid didn't answer, she just kept staring at where hiccup walked off.

"Astrid, "called fish. Snapping her out of her trance.

"Um... His eyes, they were... Um, they were."

"What about his eyes?, "he asked. Stepping closer to her.

She turned and faced them. "They were red, "she whispered loud enough for them to hear.

"What do you mean red?, "asked tuff.

"I mean, he had, bright. Red. Blood. Eyes, "she explained. All of them looked at each other asking the same question with there faces.

What the hell is happening to hiccup?
