Vali and Gabe rode together in the low mountains of his homeland that is part of Romania. His arm wrapped around her waist as the black stallion carried both easily. Gabriel's hair was French braided by Maria. Her hair was longer as Vali refused to have her get it cut so now it was to her waistline. Maria helped brush and maintain it. Vali for whatever reason insisted on washing her hair himself. He spent hours running his fingers through it. The foulest of moods wouldn't last long.
Vali steered the horse through a small stream then up into a rocky area. The Vampire King expected to hear the questions begin but none came from Gabriel.
"What are you plotting draga mea? You don't have chalk on you for more Angelica graffiti do you?"
"Well aren't you the paranoid one..."she laughed. "I figure you are taking us somewhere private for a certain reason, is all..."
"Hmm, yes there is a cave up near here. The temperature states relatively the same and is warmer than outside right now," he replied.
After about another twenty minutes they reached the cave. It didn't even look big enough to let Vali get in it. The Unholy King adjusted his arm so she could get down. Gabriel dismounted which was more work in her long skirt and jacket. Then Draganu dismounted and tied the stallion up to a tree with a halter and rope under the bridle. He had lost a couple of nice horses to tying with only reins not to mention ruined bridles that needed repair.
The couple drew close to the entrance now. Gabe could see that two boulders were situated so that the cave entrance looked small. The entrance was also mostly overgrown and there was rock sluff. She could see no one had been up to this cave in a very long time.
Vali broke the silence, "Come little one, let me show you what is so special about this cave..."
Gabriel made her way through the entrance by holding on to some stone hand holds from broken stone. She suddenly paused and her head jerked so she shut her eyes. Vali paused to watch what was going on.
Her psychometry is working but on what?
Gabriel's eyes closed several times as if she was trying to stop seeing a terrible image but she couldn't because the image was in her mind first off. Draganu moved up silently then took her by the elbow to lead her along.
"Don't touch me!" she yelled. "You bring me here?! The place you washed the blood off of Mina and the others once you had killed them! Do you check on their rotted bodies every onc,e in a while, to gloat?"
"Actually no I don't. I never gave it any thought when I brought you here. You mentioned the shared horse and then a swim," he replied lacking any real emotion.
"Fuck you, that's even worse. She didn't mean a thing to you. She doesn't even deserve a decent burial," Angel snarled.
"I'm a vampire and you should know by now that is how I work. I was going to make her a wife but she betrayed me so she rests with all her men that seeked to destroy me," Vali simply stated.
"Fuck me. I get it now. She was important as she was going to be a wife. I am nothing but a toy with an expiration date. After her death is when you started collecting trophies isn't it? Mummified your best dead toys. And I suppose you learned it from someone like Dr. Frankenstein!" Gabriel was yelling loudly.
Draganu growled, "What do you want me to tell you? That you're right? You're right. I haven't changed since you first met me so why do things bother you now?"
Gabriel stammered, "I saw you bathing the gore off and that smile. Such a horrible sadistic smile on your lips. The lips I have kissed so many times and thought were beautiful in how they made me feel alive. Such a fucking fool I am. You must find this so amusing..."
