They claim they do this for us
For the people
They take away a basic right
And the crowds cheer

Of their charismatic leader
Handing out bread
At the greatest circus on earth
They claim that it's us against them
We are fighting a just cause

They corral them into pens we wouldn't put our dogs in
Distract us
Telling us they are better there
We agree with ease
Numb
And cheer
They take away another basic right

They see people no longer put up a fight
Even as they come for them
Picking up anyone and everyone
One by one
Suddenly
We lift our heads
Now we take notice
