ETHAN'S POV
We made our way to the council house. We stood in front of the doors preparing to fight our way through. But when we opened the door, it was empty. Not a living soul was left behind.

"We need to check in the library. They have some sort of secret room in it." Mom said.

I nodded and we continued walking. We reached the library where all of the ancient scrolls are kept. I looked around for something that might look like its hiding something. After 20 minutes of searching, I got frustrated.

"Ethan!" My mom called.

I went to where she was. She was in front of a statue of Ezra, our oldest vampire, and who is like our president. I never noticed his rings on his fingers. I was about to touch it but Robert stopped me.

"What?" I asked.

"It could be a trap." He answered.

"But it can also lead us to where Lia is." I answered harshly.

"True but,"

Before he could protest anymore, I pushed down and the ring sank with a clicking noise. The statue sank into the floor, revealing stairs that went deeper underground.

We stepped down a few steps when the way we came from closed, locking us inside. I banged my hands in the wall, trying to break through. Nothing.

My mom said a couple of chants and her index finger began to glow a blue light. With her leading, we descended farther, into the darkness.

VINCENT'S POV
At first I thought I lost them, but then I followed their scent and followed them to the council house. It was empty but I heard voices from inside the library. I stayed out and tried to focus on what they were saying.

I heard footsteps from behind me so I ducked behind a pillar. About 15 vampires walked past me, and they were holding Lia.

She was dragged by chains on her wrists and a cloth in between her teeth. Her lips was busted and she had bruises and cuts all over here face. I wanted to go and get her now, but I knew that wouldn't turn out good for either of us.

They pulled her to the library where I heard the voices. I waited a few minutes before I went in.

The shelves were filled with books covered in cobwebs and old scrolls, long forgotten. The group of vampires were in front of a statue of Ezra. They pushed down on a ring on his finger and a secret stairway opened. Lia tried to pull away, but a girl punched her and knocked her out. She carried her over her shoulder and they walked down.

I waited for what seemed like forever and started walking down.

ETHAN'S POV
When we reached the bottom of the stairs, we were in some sort of dungeon. There were chains and shackles attached to the wall. A splatter of blood stained the floor.

"She was here." Mom said.

The room was big so we searched around. As I walked, I noticed a figure on the far corner of the room. I walked closer and saw that it was a man. I turned him, only to see my father's face.

His eyes were stitched shut, including his mouth. He had "traitor" carved into his chest. His stomach was cut in and blood spilled out.

My mom screamed in horror. Robert put in head down. I dropped him and threw up a bit on the floor.

I heard a laugh from behind us. I turned to the man's voice furious.

"Come out so I can kill you!"

The man laughed again. I heard him walking closer. He had gray hair and yellow eyes. I soon recognized who it was.

"Y-your Ezra." I said in a quiet voice.

He chuckled and bowed mockingly.

"In the flesh."

"You did this?! I'll kill you!" I said clenching my fists.

"Ah ah ah." He said shaking his index finger.

He snapped and about 15 other vampires appeared from the shadows. A girl was carrying Lia, who was not in good shape. The girl dropped her and Lia groaned. Ezra picked her up by her neck and pulled her to her feet.

"Magnificent human isn't she. Quite beautiful too."

He licked her cheek and she yelped. He then turned her head and took his fangs out.

"Would be a shame if I had to rip out her throat now wouldn't it?" He asked smirking at me.

I un-clenched my fists and put my hands up. Mom and Robert did the same.

"Smart lad. Grab them."

Robert and I were both held down by three vampires each. One held my mom, another held her magic supply bag. I looked at Lia, who was still being held by Ezra. Tears rolled down her cheeks.

"Well Lia, now I get to fulfill my little promise to you." Ezra said whispering into her ear.

LIA'S POV
Ezra took a knife out and handed me the girl again. She faced me towards them and lifted my head up so I could watch. I closed my eyes as I heard the knife slice through flesh.

There was screams and cries. I opened my eyes and saw we have lost someone.
