Logan
I yelp, falling backward as Rory jerks up, his eyes wild and his hands shaking. Nurse Waine lets out a squeak, instinctively covering her face with her hands. Rory looks at me and I feel my blood run cold. Rory, what happened to you? I feel sick as he falls forward out of his chair, his arms straightening, allowing him to catch himself. He looks up again and I can't help but tremble as his almost animal-like eyes meet mine.
As we stare at each other, all signs of the Rory I know are gone. A creature. He crawls on all fours toward me, some kind of monster out of a horror movie his movements a mess. My heart feels like it's about to beat out of my chest. Closer and closer, I scoot backward, away from him. I look around, an open-mouthed Keira in the doorway, a cowering Nurse Waine on her knees, a shocked Hippolyta in the corner and...What? She can't be okay with this can she? A perfectly calm Autumn sits in a chair, busily typing away. Why don't you notice!
A hand grabbing my ankle brings my focus back to the current situation I find myself in. Icy. Cold. Frigid. Dead. I feel my breath catch my body frozen in fear. Another hand. I kick out, Rory letting go. He doesn't seem at all shaken, continuing his crawl toward me, faster now. On the verge of tears, I push back one more time, my heart nearly stopping as I feel the wall behind me. Fuck.
I freeze as Rory grabs me again, climbing into my lap. He takes my face in his hands, the sensation sending a shiver down my spine. No no no no! My whole body goes tense. The tears that I'd been holding begin to work their way from my eyes. He locks his eyes with mine. I see something. The outside of his eyes are a striking purple. I can't help but stare. The color seems to be creeping farther as if trying to consume his entire eye.
"GET OFF OF HIM!" I see a figure fly at Rory, tackling him to the ground. It takes me a minute to process what just happened, my body beginning to relax. I turn my head to see Keira and Nurse Waine holding down a struggling Rory. Hippolyta has a chair which the other two force the still wriggling boy. Rory... Keira snatches a sweatshirt from the lost and found bin and begins to tie-up Rory as I get to feet. "What the hell was that!" Keira glances over at me with a worried expression, finishing her knot. "You good?"
"I..." I look over at Rory, his head now limp hanging onto his chest, his eyes covered by his hair. His eyes. I ignore Keira stepping around her to approach Rory. I lean down placing my fingers under his chin. I lift his head and his eyes open.
