Keira
Logan seems on edge as he speaks, keeping his voice low. "...so when he grabbed my face I looked into his eyes and saw the weirdest thing. His eyes were turning purple." Logan waves his hands dramatically as if he just revealed something shocking. What an absolute idiot. True, what he was saying was weird, but he was panicking when he saw Rory. He just saw something odd, there is no other explanation.
"I know we asked earlier, but do you have any idea what happened? Maybe you can tell us something that'll convince us, but until you do that you can't prove shit," I say, placing my hands on my hips in an attempt to look cocky.
"I would like to know what happened as well." The nurse seems quite shaken as she glances over her shoulder. "I was just dragged into this mess without explanation. Knowing what's going on will allow me to understand how I can help." She lets out a sigh, massaging her temples. "This job is going to be the death of me... After you tell me what happened, we're going to the principal. He needs to know when stuff like this happens."
I may not know whats going on either, but even I know that's a pretty awful idea. I turn to Hippolyta who still seems to be recovering from the shock, her face pale. Even in this state I can't help but look to her for an answer. She's the club leader after all.
"Nurse Waine." Hippolyta finally speaks, her voice quiet and thoughtful. "Don't tell anyone what happened here, alright?" I blink in surprise, her words are in complete contradiction with her character. Hippolyta doesn't keep secrets though, she always an open book. And she always follows the rules, why would she hide something from the principal? Nurse Waine looks confused opening her mouth as if to argue- "I said, don't tell anyone." I feel a shiver down my spine as she says this, her voice cold.
"Guys?" a confused Logan re-enters the conversation, his expression nervous, his eyes darting between Hippolyta and the nurse. "We should just calm down, the most important thing is that Rory is okay and we have a mission, okay? I agree with Lyta, we should keep this a secret. Right now, we have other things to think about, plus how are we supposed to explain this?" He looks over at me, shrugging as if to say, Is that any good? I grind my teeth, stressed.
"Fine." Nurse Waine's voice is cold, her speech serious. I feel a sudden chill, my brain processing what I'm hearing. She sounds like she did in her office... "I'll keep your secret, but you'll owe me."
"Are you saying we make a deal?" Hippolyta smiles, a cruel, calculating thing.
"Yes." I tremble and feel a squeezing sensation in my chest as Nurse Waine says this. "I'll keep your secret if you let me help you..." I sigh with relief, the tension in my body fading, "and let Keira help me." What!?
