Logan
As I sit in my chair Rory clings to me like a life preserver. As we sit there I look around at everyone else, the rest of the room as solemn. Hippolyta sits at the circle of desks in the center of the room, a concerned Keira waving a hand in front of her face, Hippolyta's eyes following it. A dazed Lola sits in a chair, a stone-faced Autumn standing behind her. "Logan." Rory's voice is so close to my ear, that it cause me to gasp in surprise.
"Yeah?"
"What happened?" I tilt my head to look at him, with face pale and eyes dull. "Did I go crazy or something? All I remember is the color purple." I look down, my mind busy trying to think of what to say. "Logan, please tell me." I can't say no to Rory...With this thought, I cave-in and look back up at him.
"Well, you and Lola started to freak out, clawing at your heads and stuff. Lola grabbed Lyta and stared at her really hard or something. While she was doing that, you passed out. Keira managed to snap Lyta out of her trance which causes both of them to fall. And...yeah that's it." I nod as if to finalize my claim. Rory seems to think about it for a second before opening his mouth to speak.
"And why am I on your lap?"
"I tried to put you in a chair but you wouldn't let go of me. Then I got tired and sat down." I awkwardly glance over at Rory who's giving me a doubtful expression. Please tell me he believes me! I'm telling the truth.
"Ha ha ha!" Rory bursts out laughing, his body shaking. I tighten my grip on him instinctively. "That's so sweet of you! You're the best Logan." He looks sincere.
"Alright you two, this is adorable and all, but right now we've to figure out what we're supposed to do again," a pissed looking Keira says as she makes her way over to us. "This now has happened twice in two days, and it's not just Rory now, it's Lola as well." When she hears her name, Lola looks over at us, her eyes as dull as Rory's. "I know you want to keep this a secret Polly, but we have to do something."
Hippolyta doesn't move as Keira speaks but then says, "Like anyone would believe us. Eyes turning purple, students becoming violent, even if they believe us they'll probably take away Lola and Rory or something." That's right. I can't help but look at Rory as Hippolyta speaks. He seems confused, pushing himself out of my lap. He walks over to Hippolyta cocking his head in confusion.
"Did I do something wrong? All I remember is the world going purple." Hippolyta sits straight up as if someone sent an electric shock through her body. "Huh?!" She grabs Rory's hands causing him to cry out in surprise. I jump up, panic flooding my body.
"You saw it too!" I stop as I hear Hippolyta's desperate and heartbroken words. "When she grabbed me I saw purple covering my vision like it was trying to swallow me whole. I felt like..like...I...huh?" She suddenly shakes her head like she's been hit with a sudden realization. "What was I just saying?' I feel the blood drain from my face. She can't have forgotten, can she?
