Logan

“Are you sure it’s not just a prank?” I ask, scanning the message again. “It seems too outlandish. I mean bullies are one thing, but stalkers? Even if this is real, should we really get mixed up in something like that?” I can’t help but hope that the others agree. Last time we’d gotten mixed up in something that serious we’d ended up in a back alley, being chased by a group of who knows what. They didn’t even look human. It’d been terrifying, but when we’d told people, no one believed us.

“It might not be a prank, but don’t you think it’s a little disturbing. I mean I’d love to help, but this is a lot. Plus it sounds almost supernatural,” Hippolyta says.

“Well, I think we should help!” Rory pumps his fist in the air, a determined expression on his face. He is way too cute. Rory had always been my favorite member of the club, mostly because of his neverending optimism and kind nature. I liked it that he could tell when I was having a bad day and would go out of his way to help me feel better. If he was willing to help…

“Fine. I’ll agree to help if everyone else is.” Hippolyta tugs at a strand of her hair while I speak, obviously in deep contemplation. “Keira, what do you think?” Keira looks at me in surprise. I often wonder why Keira joined the club in the first place, and why she’s still here. She never tries to contribute or even acts like she wants to. She just sits in the classroom and hangs out. Technically she’d not even part of the club, but we allow her to hang around just to meet the club member requirements even though she’s basically useless, I feel bad for her. Everyone in the club hates her, even me. Everyone but Rory. That’s a given of course.

“W-we-ll,” Keira stutters, seeming very uncomfortable with the fact that she has a say in the situation. I know she’s going to say no, less work for her. “Let’s help.” Or I’ll be pleasantly surprised. Autumn seems a bit shocked as well, but nods in agreement, she only ever really talks directly to Hippolyta.

“I guess I’ll go along with it as well, after all I am the club leader,” Hippolyta says, obviously oblivious to the fact that she’s bragging. Then again she’s never been good at reading social situations. She always seemed to enjoy showing off, though I doubt she knew what she was doing.

“Well, I guess we’re all in agreement!” Rory bounces up and down, grabbing my arm. He smiles up at me. Fuck. He’s too precious.  “I’m so glad we’ll all be working together! Right, Logan?” And he knows that I’ll agree if he gets like this.

“Of course.” I can’t help but crumple to Rory’s whims. “I suppose we’ll get started tomorrow then?”

“Of course.”

“Yeah...I guess.”

“Yes!”

“Alright boss.”
