Anchored Spirit (From Of The Moon)

When you know

Before the words are spoken

But they spill out

Crippling you in ceremonious defeat

But at least they aren't rotting inside your soul

A dull mumble beneath

A trembling shell

And the last thing you can do

In an act of self-love

Is anchor yourself somewhere somehow

Before your spirit drifts

And falls unconscious

Author's note: This poem is from my published book Of The Moon, now available on Amazon.com and Amazon.in, which chronicles the soul's journey through human experience. It touches on dread, sorrow, hope, and love.
I wrote the book over the span of two years, when I experienced high anxiety, depression, and even suicidal thoughts. But as my situation cleared up, I found a bit of hope, so not everything from the book is sorrowful.
