How Dare You

How dare you remind me

How much easier it is

To be on my own

How dare you remind me

That I'm so much better

At providing for myself

And my needs

You claim ownership over

The little things you've done for me

But these hands have bled

This soul has scattered

This skin has cracked

This mind has crumbled as I

Pressed onward and stumbled my way

Into a better life

These efforts have neither been about you

Nor included you
