You spend your time
Peering at the sunYou love the daylight
You love the rain
The colors of the sky
How it all changesIt is the only thing that you know
That spins, yet causes
No vertigoA woman opens her window
To the summer wind
And looks out to the cloudsShe's tucked in an office
Not far from here
Where not a blade of grass growsThis inhabitant
Of a concrete city
Stares at the blue skyIt seems to glance back
And wink
Out of the corner of its eyeIt is the only thing that she knows
That spins, yet causes
No vertigoFaster and faster
Than the earth
And by it goesA spinning circle
Of atmosphere
That I knowIt churns tomorrow
And tonight with
No vertigoIt spins and spins
'Till morning light, but still
No vertigo
