IT Gets Stranger

The walk

*The Party POV*
"Mike?" Eleven said as they were walking the road on the way back to Hawkins.
"Yes El?" He said.
"What is a....a clown?" She asked.
"Oh uh." He tried.
"A clown is a costume adults put on to make kids laugh....I guess it used to make them laugh now it's just creepy." Max said.
"Yah they wear creepy ugly makeup all over their stupid faces." Dustin said with a shiver.

As they were getting back into town. Eleven was on Mikes back sleeping, while Max and Will were leaning on each other's backs sleeping in the wagon as Lucas was pulling.
"How you doin buddy?" Dustin said looking at Mike.
"Oh my back? Totally fine El weighs like nothin." He said.
"No, with everything that just happened today." Dustin said.
"I don't know they're nice I guess." Mike said.
"That Bill guy was nice." Dustin added.
"Yah one of the nicest guys I've met, but that's not enough sometimes ya know." Mike explained.
"What do you mean?" Dustin asked.
"I don't know we helped them with a rock war and now they assume we're gonna save their lives." Mike said.
"Yah but think about it this way, new friends that no how to fight back." Dustin said smiling.
"Hey guys?" Lucas said.
"Yah Luke?" Dustin said.
"Do you think... uh never mind it's a stupid question." Lucas said.
"Go ahead there are no stupid questions." Dustin smiled.
"Ok so this might be out of line, and he's right here, but do you think Will is, I don't know, gay?" Lucas asked.
Wills eyes shot open, his heart started racing.
He kept quiet.
"I don't know, I don't thinks so." Mike said.
"Why do you ask?" Dustin asked.
"Well I don't know it just seemed like he was like clinging to Stanly." He said.
"Oh yah I did notice that." Dustin nodded.
"Well even if he is, he's still our Bestfriend, no matter what." Mike said.
Will had always felt something for boys and he's always known he was gay but hearing it said aloud caused a tear to run down his face.
And hearing Mike say that no matter what, they were Best friends, brought on sense of relief but he was still scared of how they would look at him.

"Ok this is where I leave you guys." Dustin said.
"Your walkie?" Mike realizing he had given his to the losers.
"Please you think I only have one of those?" Dustin smiled.
"Ok don't forget Steve's bat." Lucas said.
"Ok see you tomorrow." He said with a wave goodbye.

They got to Max's house.
"Max wakey wakey." Lucas said shaking her awake.
"Oh thanks for the ride Luke." She said moving causing Will to fall back into the wagon still asleep.
"Stay in touch." Lucas said handing her her walkie.
"Will do." She said running inside.

"Alright this is my stop" Lucas said handing the wagon to Mike.
"Cya Luke." Mike said.
"Wait are you walking home alone after you drop them off?" Lucas asked.
"Nah my mom thinks I'm at Wills." Mike said.
"Ok I'll see you tomorrow." Lucas said walking inside.
*sigh* Mike let out.
"You ok Mike?" Will said sitting up in the wagon.
"Yah, I'm ok." Mike responded glancing down at him and then looking ahead.
"Here." Will said gesturing for Mike to put Eleven in the wagon as he got up.
Mike set her in the wagon.
"Thanks." He said.

They finally got to Hoppers house in the woods.
Mike knocked on the door.
"There you are." Hop said opening the door.
"Where is she?" He asked.
"Wagon." Mike said.
Hop walked over to the wagon and picked her up and bringing her in.
"Tell El to stay in touch in the morning." Mike said.
"No problem." Hop said walking in and closing the door.

"I'll pull you." Will said gesturing for Mike to get in.
"Thanks Will." Mike said getting in the wagon.
Mike sat in the wagon with his legs pressed against his chest and his arms rapped around them.
"Hey Will?" Mike asked.
"Yah" he said.
Mike was going to ask about what Lucas had said earlier.
"Uh we're going to your place." He said instead.
"Yah I know." Will responded.
