We're all inside of Meggy's apartment, the NSS included, in the middle of the night. Everyone was sitting around the room, whether on the floor, like Callie and Marie, or on the couch, like Meggy and Captain Cuttlefish. Me? I was leaned up against the wall.
Marie: So, what's this plan of yours?
Me: Meggy was attacked by a clone of Mario not too long ago. A clone made out of ink. We're thinking it might be a threat to all citizens of Inkopolis.
Captain: What's that gotta do with this shit we've been doing?
Me: Like I said, it might be posing a possible threat to citizens. The Mario clone was just the beginning of what could be a world of suffering and demise.
Desti: Let's find this f***er and kill him.
Me: I appreciate the enthusiasm, Desti, but I think you've been rocking around Dominic's Christmas tree too long.
Desti: Why, I outta slit your d**k off.
Me: As I was saying, that's our biggest problem: we don't know who's carrying it out, and we don't know if they'll strike again.
Callie: Have you seen what Cuttlefish County looks like? It's a f***ing war zone out there.
Me: You know about this?
Callie: Yeah. I lived there with Marie when I was young. There wasn't craters or inked over cornfields or barns that looked like they were a shrapnel weapon.
Me: So the reign of terror begins.
Marie: Cuttlefish County is about two hours North of the Plaza, where me and Callie do our broadcasts.
Meggy: And it just happened about an hour ago in my apartment.
Me: To be honest, Meggy, Dominic thought you were cheating on me when he heard you when you were talking like you were out of breath.
Dominic: Guilty as charged. Sorry for assuming.
Me: Now then. When did it all start?
Callie: About three hours ago.
Me: Any sort of checkpoints on the way here?
Callie: Four checkpoints on the main road, none on the back roads. The back roads skip the security checkpoints altogether, but they take a little bit longer.
Me: Hitting all four security checkpoints?
Callie: About 10-15 minutes each gate. Depends on if the patrol guards have suspicions about you. Back roads are confusing to navigate, but with riding them often, it'll take probably around 10 minutes less than the main roads. Unless you don't know which roads to take. Then, it'll take more than an hour.
Captain: And how do you know this?
Callie: I drive them all the time.
Me: So... if this mysterious person were to take the back roads here and was experienced with them, then it SHOULD'VE taken it around 2 hours and 50 minutes to get here, meaning that they still had 10 extra minutes to draw the Mario clone, send it to Meggy's apartment, and try to kill her. If it were to take the main roads without causing suspicion, then it would've been around 2 hours and 40 minutes, giving them double the time as previously stated.
Meggy: I fought the clone for almost 10 minutes.
Me: This is startling information. Let's see how it made its way here.
Marie: It?
Me: Not assuming gender. Anyways, it couldn't have taken the back roads, even if it was experienced with them because it would take more than 10 minutes to draw a Mario clone AND let it attack Meggy for an added on 10 minutes.
