After carrying Mike away from Moray Towers and getting him back to Meggy's apartment, I tended to his wound in the bathroom. It looked bad. Something must've crashed pretty hard on it, because it was bent out of Hell, bleeding. Not much, but enough to worry about. I grabbed the suturing kit off of the sink and threaded the needle.
Me: This'll hurt like Hell.
Mike: It's not like it's not supposed to be like that, is it?
Me: No. It's not supposed to be like that. Bent everything in that foot of yours. You're lucky I was there to help.
Mike: Yeah. Thanks.
Me: Well... I can't stitch it up now.
Mike: Why?
Me: It's impossible to do, mostly because your nerves, veins, and bones are all sorts of f***ed up.
Mike: Soo... we go to the hospital?
Me: Unless we know for sure that your foot will be alright, we can't take any chances.
Mike sighed with resentment.
Mike: Alright. Take me there.
Me: Sure. Just one problem: how many people are going to be there?
Mike: Not many people were home at the time. There was a party not too far away, though. Most of the residents went there.
Me: Alright then. We get you to the hospital, get you treated and rested, and you'll be alright, right?
Mike: Not so easy as it looks.
Me: Too bad. We're taking you there.
Mike: I didn't mean it like that. What I meant was that I haven't been there in f***ing forever.
Me: When was the last time you were there?
Mike: About 5 years ago when I fell and had that blood transfusion.
Me: Soo... since you were an Inkling?
Mike: Don't be stupid with me.
Me: Alright. I'll let the rest of them know that I'll be taking you to the hospital.
Mike: Do you mind carrying me there?
Me: Sure. Is it far?
Mike: Just down the street.
I lifted him up onto my back, wrapped my tail around him, and walked out of the bathroom into the main room, where everyone else was waiting.
Meggy: What's going on?
Me: Have to take Mike to the hospital. His foot is bad. I don't think I can just stitch it up and he'll be fine.
Mike: We're having professionals look at it.
Me: See you later, I guess. Wait.
I counted heads, and only counted eight instead of ten. Dominic and Desti were nowhere to be found.
Me: Where's Dominic and Desti?
Meggy: They went for a walk.
Callie: They're at Port Mackerel on a "date."
Meggy: CALLIE!!!
Callie: It's the truth.
Marie: Just take him to the hospital before that foot causes more problems.
Me: Alright. I shouldn't worry.
Marie: You better not worry about him. He can take care of himself.
