Two weeks have passed since Moray Twilight. I still felt sick to my stomach after what I did to Serina. She deserved it, though. It was me and Marie who were standing right outside of Bomb Rush Blush, the final kettle of my mission as Agent 4.
Me: So... this is it, I guess?
Marie: You can always come and hang out here even after defeating the DJ, Four.
Me: Well... I don't want to fully leave my agent life, but after I defeat the DJ, I can't really do much after it.
Marie: After this, you can protect Inkopolis from every threat that's made. That or just... be yourself.
Me: I like being an agent, though.
Marie: You'll still be one. You'll just... not really be "on call" every day.
Me: I still can't believe what I did two weeks ago.
Marie: You're still upset about that?
Me: She didn't deserve that.
Marie: Well she did.
Me: F***ing prick.
Marie: Who you calling prick?
Me: Me. I'm such a bad guy.
Marie: No you're not. You did what you had to do to survive.
Me: I'm not like that, Marie. I'm the gentle one.
Marie: Mike didn't even get emotional when it came to his agent work.
Me: I'm not Three. I'm Four. Agent 4 of the NSS.
Marie pulled a crab cake out from her back pocket and handed it to me.
Me: Why? That thing's about two weeks old.
Marie: Well... you'll need it.
Me: Did you at least warm it up?
Marie: You'll be fine. I once saw Three dumpster dive and come out with a moldy sandwich. This was in a back alley, mind you. That sandwich must've been there for a good long while.
Me: Wait. He did? Was he alright?
Marie: Unfortunately, he had... uncontrollable diarrhea and vomiting about an hour later. After he ate it, of course.
Me: That's nice.
Marie: Fortunately, he recovered in about a day's time.
Me: Determined one, isn't he?
Marie: I'd say so.
Me: Better not stall. I need to save your cousin from the DJ.
Marie: Go, oh mighty one filled with determination.
Me: Marie. Don't make me blush.
Marie: Might've forgot to tell you something.
Me: What is it?
Marie: It's... something you'll take to heart.
Me: Is it my mother? Is she alright?
Marie: How do I explain it?
Me: It's her cancer, right?
Marie: I'm sorry, Four.
Me: Don't tell me.
Marie: I'm sorry. It's the truth.
Tears formed in my eyes.
Me: Marie?
Marie: Yes, Four?
Me: How? Is? She?
Marie: Let's say that she's better than before.
