Last period came and everyone was waiting eagerly for it to be over. As soon as the bell rang, everyone heaved a sigh of relief and started packing their bags. It wasn't the same case for me, since I already had it packed up in advanced and was just reading on my phone.
I put my phone away in my pocket and started to walk out of the classroom towards the foyer. This time, my mother was gonna pick me up. I waited at the foyer of the school where there were a lot of picnic tables so that the students could sit down and even do their homework while waiting for their parents.
I sat myself on the first table from the school entrance and turned my body to face the entrance, to see if my mother was coming. I was sitting down when suddenly, I felt a nudge behind me. I turned around to see a pair of pale blue eyes, with dark eye makeup. But this time, those eyes looked different. The eyes didn't look as scary as they usually were. They were squinted, as if the owner of those eyes were smiling.
"Oh hi Ash," I greeted. "I thought you usually walked home?"
"Yeah but I think I'll wait with you until you go back first," she said. "Because, well... I'm bored, and also, you're the only one that actually has some stuff in common with me..."
"Yeah that's true," I said, while nodding. "I also know that you like Nightwish and Linkin Park."
"How?" asked Ash in surprise. "I never told anyone about it. Have you been looking through my stuff without my knowledge?"
She advanced forward towards me with her icy pale blue eyes glaring into my brown ones. I quickly backed away. Okay now that kinda sent chills down my spine...
"I-I just saw the name of the song on your MP3, over your shoulder," I said. "I was behind you and you were holding up your MP3 player and I saw it. That's all! Please... don't kill me... I hadn't done anything wrong."
She suddenly started snickering and soon she burst out laughing. Wait why is she laughing? I started laughing too, not knowing the reason why she was laughing. She finally stopped and turned to me again.
"Oh Penelope...." she said. "What made you think I was gonna kill you?"
"It's just... I dunno," I said, awkwardly rubbing the back of my neck. "You kinda looked scary when you did that..."
"Really?" she asked me. "Do I really look that scary? Seriously, why does everyone fear me?"
"I don't know..." I said. I looked back at the entrance and noticed that my mom was already waiting for me there. "Oh look! My mom's here. I gotta go. Bye!"
She got up too and followed me, not far behind. When I reached my mother, I waved at Ash and she waved back. My mother saw her too, and she smiled at Ash. Ash nodded at her in reply. We parted ways and I was soon riding in the car with mom.
"So was that your creepy friend?" asked Mom, while driving. "Was that Ash?"
"Yep it is," I said. "That's Ash. The emo girl in our class."
"She seems to be friends with you," said mom. "But yeah, I get what you mean. Those eyes are really pale."
"Just imagine her glaring at you," I said, remembering what happened while I was still waiting at the foyer. "She has this really piercing stare..."
"Yeah I can imagine," said Mom. "Anyway, I'm gonna leave you home now, because Dad and I have a lot of classes today."
"Yeah you always say that," I said. "It isn't new, I already know that."
"Yeah it isn't new, is it?" said mom, stopping at the traffic light. "So how was school today?"
"Well the the teacher said that the essay that I and Ash wrote together was the best essay in class," I said. "I have it with me now, I wanna upload it online later."
"That's good," said mom. "Keep writing. Your stories are really good."
"Hehe thanks," I said, smiling at her. "Oh and I uploaded a new chapter yesterday. Go read it when you're free."
"I will," said mom. "I'll read it later..."
I actually asked my parents to read my books. My mother always procrastinated to read and played a game on her phone instead, but she still reads my stories anyway. Dad on the other hand... he only read one chapter, mocked me a bit for it, but said that it was good and that I might even become an author if I improved my grammar. Well, I didn't expect good feedback from these two, but okay.
Soon, we were already at our place. Mom dropped me and drove away after waving at me and watching me enter the house. So as usual, I went to the kitchen, prepared and had my lunch, freshened up, and went to my study table to continue writing my story after finishing my homework.
Our loyal reader read all of the latest chapters, leaving behind some comments, saying that the book is funny and stuff like that. It's comforting to see that someone else besides myself and my family are reading my books. I typed out the short story we wrote yesterday and corrected some of the mistakes in the process. The loyal reader doesn't seem interested in the short stories though...
After that, I continued to write my book till dinnertime, when my parents arrived with dinner. This was my usual routine, as you can see. This is what I do everyday. I like spending time with my family. We always sit eat together during breakfast and dinner. We would usually go out together on the weekends.
Bedtime came, I went off to sleep and the next morning my mother woke me up. The reason why she has to wake me up is because no alarm would wake me up, for some reason. Alarms just don't work for me...
I went to school again and sat at my desk. Sometimes I wished I could sit alone like what Ash does. I mean, it's nice to have someone sit next to you, but having more privacy sounds good too.
Lea wasn't here today. Well, I'm not surprised. That girl is always absent. She's absent at least once a week! I just received a text saying that she couldn't come today and she asked me to send her today's homework later. Well, at least I can put my stuff on her table right?
WRONG! Because as soon as I started putting my stuff on the desk next to me, I felt someone tap my shoulder. I turned to see a familiar figure dressed in black.
