Penelope POV
My parents came to pick me up from Ash's place. Everything was back to normal, but now I have more friends than before. It felt better that I finally have someone to relate to.
As soon as I finish dinner, I went up to my room and brought down the stuff I got my parents for their anniversary. Their anniversary is today but they couldn't really celebrate today as it was Monday and we are tired out. So we decided to celebrate nicely this weekend. We actually booked a holiday trip to go somewhere near so that we can enjoy the weekend. In fact, we need the relaxation. We would go after work and come back on Sunday.
So I brought my gifts and gave it to them. They were kinda surprised and they thanked me for the gifts. It's a good thing I prevented them from buying them when we went shopping in the mall.
"So this is why you stopped us in the mall the other day," said mom, testing the lipstick I bought her. "But anyway, it's a really nice colour. Thanks, Poppy."
"You're welcomed," I said with a grin. "How about you, dad?"
"Yeah I like it," said dad. "So it's the same scent that I wanted to buy the other day right?"
"Yeah," I said. "I actually bought it before that," I said. "And then you guys were choosing the exact same thing that I chose for you guys..."
We talked for a bit and then I went up to my room and started writing out my story. I just realised that with all of these mayhem, I haven't been updating my stories.
So I started to put all of those pending ideas to use.
I sat on my study desk, my tablet in front of me with my Bluetooth keyboard and a nice hot cup of lemon tea. It tasted so good.
I turned my boombox on and started typing out my next chapter while sipping the lemon tea. It's a good thing my parents tolerate this. They don't really complain about the loud noise, but they do usually complain that I'm ruining songs by repeating them daily.
Well I don't care pfft. They're my favourite songs.
Sometimes I rewind them to hear them again, mainly Snow Castle because it's my favourite song. Hehe.
Bobby sent us the video of me and Ash panicking in front of her home. Well, they're such beasts...
Ash started texting me too. She had no idea how she would go to class tomorrow without anyone questioning her.
Ash: They're gonna drown me with questions tomorrow
Me: Idts
Me: They already did today
Ash: But still
Ash: Should I wear my disguise again?
Me: That's gonna make them question u even more
Ash: Hmm
Ash: That's true too
Ash: I'm just gonna say one thing
Ash: N one thing only
Me: What's that one thing that u speak of?
Ash: I'm just gonna say that it's just a phase
Me: Yeah that's a good idea
Ash: Wish me luck
Ash: I'm gonna need it
Me: 😂😂
Me: U're gonna do fine
Me: I'm sure of it
Ash: Thanks Penny
Ash: Ur name is so long I'm too lazy to type it out lol
Me: Nah it's fine
Me: U shorten ur name too
Ash: Yeah
Ash: Ashley feels too long for me...
Me: Not really
Ash: Ok bye
Ash: Gotta have dinner
Me: Such late dinner
Ash: Ikr
Ash: Bye!!!
So I put my phone down and continued typing. I felt tired of typing after I've typed out two chapters straight and decided to play Need For Speed instead.
I selected my favourite car which was my red Ford Mustang GT and started playing. I love that car. I wish I can buy that car when I'm older.
I wonder if any of my other friends play this game. Because I think it's kinda unusual for girls to play racing games but I don't really care coz it's fun.
I won but then the game tells me that I can't progress to the next round because my car is too underpowered and I have to upgrade it.
Thing is, I'm really broke in this game and the upgrades take like 56,000 cash, and doesn't even do anything to the PR number...
I got bored of the game and go back to writing.
I start writing a funny part and end up laughing alone like a crazy girl. But I'm not laughing at nothing so it's okay.
I was close to finishing this book and I finally did. It felt so good.
Now I can sleep in peace.
