"So Julia what did you do to score a date with detention?" Kate asks after they finish a very lively debate about how you've gotta have a drum beat in your songs or you may as well be a mumbling rapper.
Julia smirks and pushes her short ginger curls away from her face.
"Surely you've seen the artwork in the gym?" She smiles at the other two as their jaws drop and eyes widen.
"No way! That was you!" Laurie laughs thinking back to the havoc that took over her gym class yesterday soon entering the gym building.
"Yep! I was just expressing my artistic soul!"
"Spray painting 'suck my hairy cock' on the walls of the gym doesn't really count as a artist action!" Kate laughs. Julia just smiles.
"Sure it doesn't luv. And what evil dead did you commit to have your sorry ass thrown in here with us lowlifes?" Kate rolls her eyes and Laurie leans forward ready to find out what wave of gossip matched up with her story.
"You know how Lenny Burks got kicked in the balls...?" Kate smiled shyly as she said this. Laurie let out a howl of laughter and leaned so far back in her chair it tipped over.
"No fuckin' way mate! That's intense!" Julia let out as she brought her hands up and pushed her bangs away, also laughing.
"He wouldn't shut up and it was a test!" Kate giggled trying her best to defend the action.
"You know I heard rumours about that but I didn't know who did it!" Laurie let out between her fading laughter. The three girls smiled as they continued to bond and share jokes.

"Fuck me we've only got like ten minutes of lock down left." Julia states as she checks her phone.
"Hey swap phones so we can put in our numbers!" Kate suggested and so the girls passed around their phones. Laurie's sporting a Red Hot Chilli Peppers case, Kate a Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Julia a Yellow Submarine Beatles case.
There was a long pause brought to you by the girls being surprised at how this detention brought on a chance at proper friendship.
"Hey Kate ma mate, did you ever finish that essay?" Julia asks as she lights a cigarette .
"No I didn't, why?" Kate asks as she grabs the ciggie and puts it out on the table.
"That was a waste of a perfectly good smoke!" Julia exclaims, "But anyway, hand me the paper."
So Kate does and Julia pulls out a red marker from her back pocket.
"Do you just carry that on you all the time or...?" Laurie asks as Julia bites the lid of the marker trying to figure out a charmingly crude message to leave on it.
"You never know when you might need to deface public property!" Julia smiles and leans down to scrawl a message atop the existing writing.
"So what do you say ladies?" Julia says after capping the marker and turning the paper to face the other two. They smile and pick up their belongings as the principal unlocks the library door signalling they can leave.
"I say see yu at band practice!" Laurie laughs as Julia hands the paper to the principal. Kate and Laurie walk out of the room as they hear the principal shout out after Julia obviously seeing the lack of essay and more pressing note. But Julia was already out the front doors running down the street with a newly lit smoke hanging from her lips.
"How are we gonna start a band if she's always gonna be in detention?" Kate laughs once the other two make it out the doors. Laurie laughs and bids her farewell as they take their seperate routes home.
