Julia sat in silence after Laurie had left, and it was killing her. For most of her life she had preferred the silence and isolation. But now, now she was used to the noises made by companionship, the way Laurie hums when she thinks or how Kate plays with her many bracelets when she's bored. She sighed and made her way up to her room. Julia's room was not very big but it was packed full with memories and art. She sat down on her bed and looked at the phone that sat beside her.
'I don't know who else could tell me what to do.' She sighed picking up the phone and scrolling through her contacts. She brought her finger up to press it but hesitated. Than her phone lit up and started ringing, shocked she picked it up.
'Hey love just wondering if you were home yet?'
It was Julia's dad.
'Yeah dad I got home the s'morning'
'Alright well Addi is at a friends house and Leo will be home for his lunch break if you need anything'
'Yeah alright, I was actually thinking I might go see John.'
Mark hesitated on the other end before sighing and saying.
'Well if you do send him our love.'
'Will do.'
Her dad hung up and she was left once again staring at the contact, his contact, Johns contact.
After a little spat John and Mark had a few Christmas's ago they had stopped coming round. In fact Julia only saw John once or twice a year now and she's never been to his house.
She turned off and pocketed her phone before sprinting out the front door. Thinking to herself; if I don't go now I won't ever go.

Julia had never really liked boats. Which was shocking because she loves the beach. She sat still listening to Pink Floyd through her headphones.
The trip was only about fifteen-twenty minutes but she was nervous and that was making it seem even longer.
John had given her him and Paul's address when they first moved out so she was just hoping they still lived there.
The boat pulled up to the dock and she shakily walked up to the town.
Spotting a information shack she walked up to the lady behind the counter.
'Hi ma'am I was just wondering if there was some sort of taxi service around here?' Juli asked as she lent across the counter to the ancient looking woman.
'Yeah it's called your legs.' The old cow growled and Julia glared at her before stomping off.

'Shouldn't have fucking come here.' She mumbled to herself as she pulled out her phone to check the address. And to make it even better it looked as if it were going to rain.
She was about to go back to the dock to wait for the ferry to take her back to the streets she knew by heart when a voice cut through her thoughts.

'Julia?' She spun around to come face to face with the warm doe eyes she grew up knowing. Paul, Johns boyfriend now husband that had been in Julia's life since she could walk.
'Hey. Know where I could get some grub around here? I am starved' she smiled at him as he pulled her into his arms.
'Oh yeah, I'll take you to my favourite place if you'd like.' He smiled and they made their way down the street. Paul caught Julia up on the happenings of Long isle, which wasn't really much.
'Does he miss us?' She asked as they rounded the corner.
'Of course he does, he told me one evening not long after we stopped visiting that the thing he really misses about you was how you could always talk your way out of things.'
Paul chuckled and Julia smiled as they came to a stop outside of a very beachy looking house.
'This is it.'

'John honey I am home, and I brought home a surprise.' Paul yelled out into the cluttered house.
'Yeah love?' John said coming barreling into the kitchen with a smile on his face. Although when he saw Julia it grew to a absolute shit eating grin.
'They finally kick you outta Cypress, what did yu do? Spray paint some corrupt quotes or something'?' John laughed as he pulled Julia into a rub crushing hug.
'Yeah something like that!' Julia smiled as she rested her head on her beloved brothers shoulder. 'I was actually wondering if you could help me with something.'
'I'll hide a body but I am not cleaning the crime scene!'
Paul laughed and got up to leave the siblings to reconnect.
'No, no nothing like that. It's actually something to do with music.'
'Ah you've got my interest, what a band member knock you up or something, 'cause I am not ready to be an uncle.' Julia laughed and John shook his head.
'No defiantly not that, but I am ready to be an aunt so hurry up and make that happen.' John just smiled and sat back in his chair, being generally curious about what she was here to talk about.
'So I am in this band, The Misfits, and we've been offered a record deal contract thing. But I am not sure if I should take it.' Julia was actually stressing about this, something that was quite rare for her.
'What happened to go with the flow, make deductions for me, lone wolf Julia?' John was joking and he was actually quite glad she had some direction in her life.
'She's still here, she's just actually thinking for once.' John nodded.
'Do it.' This wasn't coming from John who had opened his mouth to say something but instead Paul who was stood in the corner.
'Sorry to listen in but I reckon you should do it, if you don't like it than you're welcome to come stay here till you figure out what you do like.'
Julia nodded and John smiled up at her.
'Alright. I'll do it.'

So Julia excused herself and pulled her phone out to dial up his number.
