——————————————————-Julia and Peter didn't know what to do when they came to the realisation that Julia was pregnant. Of course Julia told Laurie and Kate, I mean this is something that would effect the and. And speaking of the band, these few weeks with Frank Buffalo has gotten them more gigs and a large following than they'd ever imagine when they first played at the end of school fair only two weeks ago.
When she told the girls they had a different reaction than she had hoped for;
'Dude when I said don't get pregnant I fucking meant it!' Kate laughed.
'Dude we didn't mean to.' Julia defended.
'Yeah well what's gonna happen to the band. Huh, did you think of that.' Laurie said rather pointedly.
'Fuck the band man I am pregnant, whats gonna happen to my fucking life!' Julia screeched.
'Guys calm down.' Kate had tried to reason.
'No! We've been offered this great opportunity and you're throwing it away.' Laurie spat.
'Fuck off i am.' And with that Julia stormed out the room only to speak with them again when they met that weekend to preform.•
And that weekend came with startling news. From more than one person.
First it came from Julia who dramatically arrived five minutes before they were supposed to go on.
'Ah lady Julia has decided to grace us with her presence after all, your drums are gonna be over there.' Frank mutters.
'Girls I've got news!' Julia smiles.
'You know the gender?' Kate asks actually fairly interested. Laurie just sat back and strummed her guitar.
'Nope because I am not pregnant!' Julia smirked as she spun her drunksticks round her ringed fingers.
'What! Did you get an abortion or something?' Laurie jumps up into he conversation.
'Nah turns out I was never preggo. Went to the doctors and they said it was just an in balance of hormones or something.' Kate hugged her and Laurie smirked. Julia was about to say something more when Frank told them to get into their places. The curtains opened to show a considerable amount of people, the girls following had grown since they started playing more open gigs and they even been invited to play in the 'big city' for a music concert.
Laurie's fingers moved swiftly along her cords and her voice travelled through the ears of the excited crowd creating a unbelievable vibe.
Julia's beat carried the girls tune and she had the biggest smile on her lips, she always did when she got to play with her girls.
Kate's voice hummed along the vocals and her fingers glided across her bass.
They were once again in harmony. And they spent the next few months in harmony too. They went to the city to play the gig and partied like true rockstars, even Kate had a drink or two. Although soon enough it became aware that Laurie was having more than a drink.
But they played and the people loved them. Some started to call them revolutionary and others just called them artists. The girls didn't care what they were being called because they got to travel and play their music. They got big and they got good. But soon tragedy. They would have been seniors if they'd have stayed in school. And Kate was talking about College. Laurie didn't like this, over the years she had gotten a bit more... controlling over the group. Which was fair enough as they were getting big and they needed to have someone to voice all the concerns and demands of the stars life.'But Kate what would collage or university or whatever offer you what you don't already have!' Laurie said one night while they were up late writing songs in their New York hotel room. They'd been doing quite a few shows here lately as they had a rather large fan base just here.
'I want to do a philosophy course, Yu know all the deep stuff.' Kate fought as she sipped at her tea.
'Laurie you do know that we're almost adults and she can do whatever the hell she wants.' Julia added from her place on the floor. Julia was laying back on the floor with her feet up on the chair in front of her. Laurie was later back with her hands over her face relaxing and Kate was sat at the piano writing cords. The way they sat would have reminded the most observant of a day back in Cypress Bay. A rainy winter day with three girls lazing around the library in detention. But instead these three complete strangers fought, which was unfortunately a rather common occurrence.
'Yeah but Kate would you really be willing to throw away everything just to go back to school!' Laurie sighed sitting up.
'I wouldn't be throwing away everything, we could still record albums and do weekend shows when I am not studying, and hey maybe you could do a course or two somewhere.'
'They only course Laurie would be interested in is a drug course.' Julia scoffed from her spot.
'It wouldn't be the same, we'd loose followers and fame.' Laurie laughed at how ignorant the other two were being.
'Hey when The Beatles stopped doing shows they got even more famous.' Kate nodded along to Julia's statement.
'Yeah well we're not the fucking Beatles.'
'Yeah that's right, because the Beatles actually had a band, all we've got is a shit house.' Kate yelled before standing and heading to the door. Kate never yelled. This was bad.
Julia was soon to follow her grabbing her bag before turning and saluting Laurie who was still sat in her spot on the couch.
Now alone. And with an itching need to get high.
