𝐎𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭 {𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐥 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐦}

𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨

It's the summer before senior year begins. Veronica Lodge was still considered the "new girl in town" when she and her mom Hermione moved to Riverdale from New York. Hermione was born and raised in Riverdale only moving away to attend Columbia Law School in New York. When Hermione left she wasn't just leaving behind the town of Riverdale but she was leaving behind a boyfriend and their newborn daughter Mariah.

It was the toughest decision for Hermione to make her daughter was brand new to the world and she didn't want to miss out on a thing. And with her daughter being born with a condition being intersex she felt like she was making a horrible decision leaving her for so long. But her boyfriend, Angelo had a big hand in her leaving for school. He told her to think about the opportunity she would be giving up. She could create the greatest life possible for their daughter if she went to college and graduated.

Hermione wouldn't have to worry about a thing he would take care of their daughter while she went to school and Hermione would come home during break to visit her daughter.

Things were good for a while but it was a major shock for Angelo when the mother of his child and girlfriend showed up during break admitting not only had she been cheating on him while away but had also fallen pregnant by the guy.

Angelo was devastated ending the relationship right then and there and refusing to let Hermione take Mariah to New York for the summer.

This is what started the bad parenting relationship between Angelo and Hermione.

Hermione went back to school and jumped into a relationship with her new boyfriend Hiram Lodge. Several months later they welcomed their daughter Veronica into the world. This should have been a happy time for Hermione but she was missing her firstborn daughter immensely.

When Veronica turned two Hermione married Hiram only hurting her relationship with Angelo even more. Growing up Hiram made it clear he didn't care about his wife's other child. He felt that all of Hermione's focus should be on their daughter they had together and not the other child that was growing up in Riverdale.

Mariah didn't have the best relationship with Hermione now as a teenager, always living with the feeling of being abandoned by her mother while she was living in another city in the lap of luxury with her husband and another daughter.

All the while Mariah lived in a trailer with her dad who was fully into the life of a Serpent. Angelo and FP Jones grew up together and considered the other one to be a brother. Anywhere FP was Angelo was following close behind. FP was Serpent King and Angelo was his second in command.

Mariah was raised to be tough she knew she was different from all the girls she knew. While girls in school were dealing with their first menstrual cycle Mariah was dealing with her first boner.

Angelo refused to have his daughter being bullied for being born differently and drilled the love of fighting into her. She knew how to defend herself, she loved growing up around the Serpents and seeing her dad and uncle FP fully committed to the lifestyle that's all Mariah wanted as well.

Mariah grew up with Sweet Pea, Fangs Fogarty, Toni Topaz and Jughead Jones. Mariah and Sweet Pea were basically the kid versions of FP and Angelo. Wherever you saw Mariah, Sweet Pea was always close behind. They loved fighting it was their favorite past time. But Mariah was also a very gifted artist at the age of ten she learned how to tattoo and a few months later she was giving her first tattoo to her dad.

She didn't have the best relationship with her younger sister they were complete opposites Veronica loved dressing up in expensive designer labels. While Mariah loved her ripped jeans and doc martens.

But Mariah tried her best to connect with her younger sister whenever she was in New York visiting for school break. She, however, hated her mom's husband. And made it crystal clear to not only her mom but to Hiram himself. She knew he was nothing but bad news and it was only confirmed when he was arrested for being tied to the mob, money laundering, and racketeering.

Hiram Lodge made many enemies and it was brought to the light when he was killed while in prison. Mariah felt no sympathy for him at all. And it was hard to show sympathy to her mom and younger sister.

That's how Veronica and Hermione ended up moving away from New York and back to Riverdale.

Hermione expected a sweet reunion with her firstborn once she was back in Riverdale but that's not what happened. When Hermione crossed into the Southside she was met by her childhood friend FP and was informed that Mariah and Angelo currently lived in Las Vegas while Angelo got things together with the Las Vegas chapter of the Serpents.

Now here we are almost a year and a half later and Mariah was feeling the warm breeze on her face on her way back to Riverdale. When she moved there with her dad she never expected to be going back home to Riverdale alone.

Angelo was arrested for various charges and was sentenced to five years in prison Mariah was devastated.

Mariah was nervous about the unknown she was about to start her final year in a school she had never stepped foot in. She was about to be reunited with her best friends, and she was about to be living in the same place as her mom and sister for the first time in her life.

She was completely unaware during all these changes she would meet the one person who was her complete opposite and would change her life forever.
