Infatuated that's exactly how I was feeling right now I was completely infatuated with Mariah and I haven't even had a conversation with her but we did have the last two classes of the day together and we ended up sitting so close together we were just separated by one person and that was Fangs. I had never been so instantly attracted to someone in my life and I didn't even care if she was a Serpent. I just wanted to get to know her better.
We had been in school for a week now and neither of us had made a move to try and talk to each other even though we were constantly making eye contact and making the other person smile all the time. But today was the day I was going to boss up and talk to her.
School had just ended and Mariah was still writing down the last of the notes our teacher gave us her friends said they would wait for her out in the parking lot so since we were finally alone I took my opportunity to talk to her. "Hey," I said getting her attention. She looked at me and I could finally see her beautiful hazel eyes "hi" she replied with a smile. God her smile was everything.
"You're new here right?" She looked at me and nodded "I was born and raised in Riverdale but I just moved back from Vegas I lived there for the last three years." Her voice was everything too, God I was already in deep with this girl how fucking embarrassing is that? "You're Veronica's sister?" She shrugged "I guess if that's what she's telling people now" I could tell by her tone it just came off sarcastic "sorry didn't mean to get kind of snippy but yeah she's my little sister."
"Um, d-do you, do you have any plans tonight?" I asked she began packing her things up but never breaking eye contact with me "uh no I actually don't, not tonight at least but I do have something I need to run and do here in about an hour. Would you want to maybe grab something to eat? We could get to know each other a little more if you want?" She asked instantly making my stomach erupt with butterflies.
I couldn't help but smile and blush "yeah I'd like that a lot" I replied. "Great, like I said I got this thing to do in an hour. But after that I'm free I can pick you up, or we can meet somewhere?" She said standing up slinging her backpack over her shoulder. "You can pick me up, and then we can decide on a place?" I asked sheepishly making Mariah smile "sounds like a plan."
She handed me her phone making me furrow my eyebrows "so you can put your number in my phone dork" she replied playfully rolling her eyes. I put in my number saving the contact under Bombshell💋 😍 I handed Mariah my phone and she put her number in saving it under Southside Cutie🐍 😘 making me laugh. "I'll text you when I'm finished with this thing and then we'll go from there sound good?" I nodded and smiled. She hugged me and said bye leaving me with a wink.
"I got a good feeling about her JJ she could be one of the good ones for me," I whispered I know my brother was no longer here but I always felt like if I talked out loud he would hear me and help point things in the right direction for me. I just wanted to feel loved, and something tells me Mariah could be the one to do just that. I couldn't wait for tonight.
