For the last two days, I've been working with my uncle FP, Sweet Pea, Fangs, and Toni on my trailer. We've got a lot done in a short time which I'm thankful for.
Our work is being put on hold for today since I have to meet with my mom and sister today. I've been home for a few days and have yet to run into either of them. I'm honestly not excited to sit down and talk with them but it needs to be done now before I start school.
I was currently driving down the somewhat empty streets of Riverdale on my motorcycle enjoying the summer breeze flowing through my hair. Anytime I was on my bike it brought me back to the many rides I went on riding beside my dad. It's only been a few days since I saw him and I was missing him like crazy I knew these next five years without him would be hell.
I pulled up to The Pembrooke parked my bike and made my way inside. "Can I help you?" an older man asked as he sat behind a large reception desk. I shook my head "no thanks I know where I'm going." I responded. He looked at me up and down a few times before furrowing his eyebrows "I don't think you'd know anyone that lives here." He said only proving my thoughts. He was absolutely judging me on my outfit which if I say so myself was pretty nice.
I chuckled "oh yeah? And why wouldn't I?" I asked. "These are million-dollar apartments. I'm just not sure you'd know anyone that lives here." He replied. I hate people like this "yeah that's true, but let's not forget you only work here you definitely couldn't live here. And for your information, my mom Hermione Gomez or Lodge whichever last name she's going by now lives here. Enjoy your shift don't forget the number twenty four bus leaves every half hour so you won't miss it when you get off." I flipped him off as I walked towards the elevator I pressed the button and waited about 20 seconds before it opened. I pressed the penthouse button and flipped off the older man once again as the doors closed.
The ride up to their floor was short but it filled me with a dread of the unknown, would my mom make me move in with her and Veronica? Would she let me live on my own like I had been hoping for? My life had already just got flipped upside down I didn't want to go through it again. I had never lived with my mom longer than a few weeks my entire life I don't think I could do it.
The elevator stopped moving and the doors opened revealing an empty hallway I turned to my left and saw their door at the very end of the hall. I wanted to get this talk done and over with so I put a little pep in my step and made it to the door quickly. Not thinking twice when I knocked on the door and waited for someone to open it.
It didn't take long for the sound of high heels hitting the marble flooring to ring through the door and then the doorknob turned. The door opened revealing my mom she looked at me and smiled wide and brought me in for a hug "hi Mija I've missed you! Come in you hungry?"
