Peter + Peppermint = Screaming

When it came to shopping for toiletries, peter usually bought his own. He had never cared for the super minty toothpaste that doctors recommended, so he always bought one of the off brand less minty versions. He never thought twice about it, but he made sure to ALWAYS check the label after his visit to the tower last week...

He was working late in the lab making improvements on his suit because of a little incident with a knife last week that sent Tony into "Mamma Bear Mode". It was pretty late, maybe around 2am? Peter didn't know. He never cared about trivial things like food and sleep if it meant that he could spend hours in the lab with his favorite avenger.

Tony flicked through the hologram of designs with a thoughtful look on his face. Suddenly, Peter couldn't hold back the yawn anymore. Tony's eyes flew to the clock and he nearly dropped the starkpad he was holding when he saw how late it was. 

"I think its bed time kid." Tony set the starkpad down on the table. "I already messaged May and she said you could stay the night since its the weekend." Tony slapped the sleepy teens back to wake him up a little. "You have your spare cloths here, right?"

Peter nodded sleepily, not entirely registering what he was saying. Tony sighed and sent the kid up to bed, telling him not to worry about cleaning up. Peter threw off his pants and climbed into the guest bed, snuggling under the covers. Peter drifted off to sleep without much trouble.

The next morning, he was woken up by the sound of FRIDAY softly saying his name.

"Peter, its time to wake up."

The Spider-Boy stretched his arms above his head with a satisfying POP. he mournfully left the heat of his blankets and trudged across his room to his private bathroom. Tony had supplied him with all of the necessities, a tooth brush, toothpaste, a comb... Etc. Usually Peter would bring his own, not wanting Tony to waste money on him, but since he wasn't planning on staying the night, he didn't have any of that with him.

Peter didn't think twice about grabbing the toothpaste and squirting a generous amount of the blue substance onto his tooth brush.

Steve was at the stove, flipping pancakes while the rest of the avengers sat at the dinning room table in their casual attire. Tony went to take a sip from his coffee when a heart shattering sound echoed through the tower, causing him to jump and spill some of the coffee onto his already stained t-shirt.

"What was that?" Steve asked.

"Peter seems to be in distress." FRIDAY said.

"Where is he!?" Tony demanded, now on full alert.

"He is in his bathroom sitting on the floor."

Without a second thought, Tony, Natasha, Steve, Clint and Bucky all jumped to their feet and ran to where Peter was. Tony went to kick down the door, but Steve reminded him that the doors were metal and that he was an idiot.

Tony slid the bathroom door open and what they all saw was something they would never forget.

Peter lay on the ground, hands at his throat, screaming.

"It burns!" He shouted.

Tony scooped up the kid in his arms and all of them ran to the lab to meet Bruce. The poor man was sitting at his desk enjoying his cup of coffee when the group barged into his lab.

"What happened this time?" Bruce asked.

"We don't know! Just fix him!" Tony sat the still choking Peter down on the metal table.

Bruce walked over to them and immediately saw the problem. He went and retrieved a glass of water and a pot for the poor boy and handed them to him. Peter snatched the water from the doctor and guzzled it down, spitting some out every once in a while.

"So, you gonna tell us what happened?" Tony asked.

"Peter is Spider-Man." Bruce stated.

"Yeah, so?" Tony said.

"Spiders hate peppermint."

"What does that mean?" Tony asked dumbly.

"Peter takes on the attributes of spiders so it only makes sense that the same would go for their weaknesses. Spiders hate peppermint, so Peter has a weakness for peppermint."

"FRIDAY."

"Yes sir."

"Remind me to replace Peters toothpaste. And to get the non minty candy canes during Christmas."

"Of course sir."
