Adelia had just left and Hugo had returned to his room when one of the nurses walked into Hugo's room.

"Hugo you have another visitor."

"Who? Adelia already left."

"Some young man asking for you." Said the nurse before she led Hugo out into the room where guests would wait.

"Hugo." Said Jack when Hugo walked in the room and before Hugo knew it he had been swept up into Jack's arms. Hugo found himself clinging onto Jack. "I was so worried when you completely left."

"I thought you wouldn't care." Mumbled Hugo and Jack held him tighter.

"Of course I care. We are in this together, okay? I'm not going to let you go through this on your own. I want us to be a long time thing."

For once Hugo felt like someone had is back. He felt like someone loved him unconditionally. He felt protected.

Markus was hugging Adelia. They were both over the moon. They were sat in a lawyer's office when Markus should have been at school and Adelia should have been at home. Instead, they were signing off on the final adoption papers to confirm Adelia was Markus' legal guardian.

"Congratulations Adelia you are now the legal guardian of Markus Chambers."

A bottle of champagne was popped by the lawyer's assistant and a glass was handed to everyone in the room. Adelia and Markus hugged again and Adelia looked down at the boy she was now the guardian of. She was so proud of him. He was truly the light of her life.

"Should I call you Mum now?" Joked Markus as she drove them both home where a small party would be waiting for them.

"Don't you dare, I would feel so old." Smiled Adelia and the pair laughed.

The night was spent with a small get together of Markus and Adelia's friends. Everyone was overjoyed for them.

Once everyone had gone home Markus and Ottilie were the only ones left in the living room. They were surrounded by empty glasses and destroyed decorations.

"Markus, can I ask you a question?"

"Yeah."

"When will we mark each other?" Asked Ottilie and Markus sat up and looked at his mate.

"Would you like an exact date cause I was more hoping it would happen in the moment." Joked Markus and Ottilie glared at him. "Well, I was kinda thinking we would sort out living together after we were mated but your Mum would never allow that so I guessed we would wait until we were eighteen."

"My Mum would let us move in together if I was marked."

"Really?" Teased Markus as he lay a kiss on his mate's neck, exactly where he would mark her.

While Markus was patient Ottilie was not. It only took her a minute of kissing her mate before she dove her wolf's canines into Markus' skin. Markus, on the other hand, took his time. He kissed her softly, held her hand, and pulled her hair out of the way.

By the time Markus marked Ottilie he had spent time making sure she was entirely ready before digging his canines into Ottilie. He knew it would hurt more for Ottilie.

Marking slightly severed your connection with your pack and your wolf put their mate first. Because Markus was a rogue he was used to the pain of severing pack ties. Ottilie, on the other hand, was not.

Markus also had been in many fights with wolves so he was used to the pain, unlike Ottilie who had never been in a fight for her life because she had never been a rogue. However, when Markus marked Ottilie he was shocked that she had barley flinched at the pain.

Markus pulled his mate in close, kissing her mark. His wolf was happy that he was now fully mated and he had a legal guardian. It had been an important day for Markus. He felt like he had a family.

Evert was overjoyed to be spending time with his mate. She had visited the packhouse to meet Ottilie's mother as Ottilie was moving in with her so she could be with Markus. After the tense meeting, she had gone upstairs to be with her boyfriend.

"Would you like to be my Luna?" Asked Evert out of the blue and Adelia laughed.

"That's like the female leader of the pack right?" Evert nodded. "Evert we have only been dating for like two months. I am not ready to move in with you or to run your pack. I have an entire group of children at my house that have to been taken care of. In a few years, I might be ready to fully commit to you but defiantly not now."

Before Evert could respond a loud knock sounded at the door before one of Evert's warriors burst into the room.

"I am sorry Alpha for interrupting but we have the biggest pack in the US on our territory. They are all in human form but their cars wouldn't be more than ten minutes away."

"Is anyone hurt?" Asked Evert worried for his pack members.

"No, they have only been using tranquilizers. They do not seem to be trying to harm anyone."

"Call the council. I want them here now. I want every warrior to meet me outside, get the children in the basement."

Next thing Adelia knew Evert had transformed into a large wolf and he was running out of the office while the warrior got on the phone. As Adelia went to leave the warrior grabbed her arm.

"I can't let you go, Alpha's orders. You must remain safe." Explained the warrior before he returned to speaking on the phone. He still didn't let go of Adelia's hand though.

She sat bored in the office, worried about her friends. That was until the warrior grabbed her arms again without warning and he led her downstairs.

When she walked outside and weaved through the large group of warriors and wolves she saw quite a sight. There were 10 cars and around 50 people in front of her. That wasn't what drew her eyes though. It was the woman stood in front of her that Adelia recognized.

"Hello, Mother." Snapped Adelia with a cold expression on her face. She could hear the people behind her whispering but she wasn't focused on the gossip she was focused on her mother.

"Adelia darling I just want to talk to you."

"I don't want to talk to you."

"Is Hugo okay?" Asked Adelia's mother and Adelia laughed bitterly.

"You always preferred him. He is good though. He's at Saint Mark's Mental Hospital if you want to see him. Visiting hours close in forty minutes though so I would rush."

"Adelia I didn't know what he would do to you two." Adelia slapped her mother. She slapped her right across the face in front of fifty werewolves that were ready to die and kill for their Luna.

"How fucking dare you? You didn't know what he would do. Bullshit! You knew. It was obvious. You left us there to be physically, emotionally, and sexually abused. You can fuck off as far as I am concerned because you died to me the day we buried you." Snapped Adelia before she pushed past her mother and walked into her house.

Let behind were members of both packs stunned into silence while the Luna lay on the ground and sobbed.

When night fell Adelia packed up her, Markus, Ottilie, Laila, Clara, Myles, Hugo, and Jack's things into their three cars and they took off in the night. The house was left for the rogue children Adelia had taken in so they could be looked after. She left them with an EFTPOS card so they would be provided for and three nannies arrived two days later for the younger children.

Both Evert and the Luna were devastated but neither of them could do anything about it. Adelia had disappeared. They had no doubt that Tamsyn was involved but they could hardly question the witch. They were gone, but the hunt to find them was on.
