For a moment, the three of us all stood quietly as we took in the place, fully aware of Adrian's impatient glare waiting on us to move. "It's nice, not as flashy as I'd pictured in my head of course." Spoke Drew, breaking the silence as everyone came back to why we were here in the first place.
"Yeah. Well, I didn't exactly decorate it." Nodding toward Drew annoyed, Adrian also scanned the place for its bland furniture. There wasn't much decoration to the place, just the essentials needed to get by. "Detective Rose, your room is the one on the right." Quickly referring to me, he then turned and headed off across the apartment without another word.
"We'll bring the bags to your room, and then you can get dressed for the day." Informed Seth as he picked up two of my bags and left the larger one for Drew.
"Oh come on, why do I get the heaviest one?" Complained Drew as he reached for the handle to the top of the suitcase.
"It has wheels, quit complaining so much." Huffed Seth, annoyed with his partner as he went off toward my room. Adrian had disappeared into a room that I was sure I'd investigate another time, leaving me by myself by the entrance. Making sure that the front door was securely shut, I then decided to head off and explore my new room for myself. Walking in, I noticed two dressers set up in the room for my clothes to go in, and a queen sized bed sitting in the middle of the room. The only other door in the room was to the left, and so I opened it and found a closet rather than a bathroom. Confused, I turned and rescanned the room. I would have thought this to be a bathroom with all of the furniture set out around the room. Noticing a doorknob on the other side, I was called back out of the closet before I had a chance to investigate.
"Detective Amour wanted us to inform you that the bathroom is straight across from your bedrooms in case you needed to freshen up." Called Drew, nodding before Seth pulled the two of them from the room. Set back on course, I quickly closed the closet door and went for my suitcases as I tried to carefully get down and go through them without causing my ribs any pain. They had been bruised of course, but I think I managed to keep them from getting too hurt and so I should be good within the next couple of days. Finding a simple pantsuit to wear, I quickly got dressed before grabbing a few toiletries and heading for the bathroom. Walking across the house, it was hard not to smell the delicious aroma coming from the kitchen where the three men stood. Staying focused however, I went straight into the bathroom and fixed myself for the day before returning everything back to my room. Meeting up with the men in the kitchen, I took the empty bar stool and found a plate full of delicious breakfast foods being slid my way.
"Eat up, you're of no use to me with an empty stomach." Nodded Adrian, filling a glass with orange juice and sliding that toward me as well.
"Thank you." I said, unsure of how to thank him for the meal. Sometimes he seems very considerate and sweet. Then he makes comments like that, and I am not sure if it's for my benefit, or his.
"That was almost a kind gesture." Snorted Drew, plowing into his own plate of food. Seth once again had to nudge him to remind him to keep his mouth quiet. Adrian had looked over at him puzzled for a moment, his jaw slightly tensing before he quickly got his composure.
"Once we've all eaten, we can begin." Noted Adrian, making himself a plate before leaning back against the counter and standing to eat.
"Would you like my chair?" I asked, feeling terrible that he made us this meal and had to stand while the three of us all got to eat freely with a seat. He seemed caught off guard by the question, quickly shaking his head with a smirk once it seemed to process through his mind.
"I prefer to eat standing, just sit and relax as you eat. You're the injured one anyway." He said, forking into his eggs as he continued on eating.
