After the four of us split up, Detective Amour and I headed to the cars for our first interrogation of the day. Moving to turn toward my car, I slightly flinched as my body came in contact with Adrian's arm. "I drive." He stated as he turned me in the direction of his car.
"This isn't your city, you aren't even familiar with the roads." Grumbling at his persistent behavior and lack of personal space, I decided I would let him drive this time.
"Ah, we have these little things called GPS. You plug in the location, and the little screen just goes and.."
"I know what it is!" Huffing in frustration, I could hear him chuckle quietly to himself. As we got into the car, he just couldn't help but continue to boast himself.
"As lead on the case.." Beginning with the last piece of patience I had for him, I cut in.
"You are not lead, maybe assistant lead since I'm stuck with you as a partner." I began, tired of how high he held himself.
"I always run lead." He began, before I cut him off yet again.
"You never ask for help either, and yet here you are." Finally getting to him, he grumbled under his breath at my last fact. Punching in the address I already knew how to get to, he then wordlessly sped out of the parking garage. I knew the address here wouldn't lead me straight to the woman I wanted to see, but it would at least be a start. Once the car was parked, I stared over at the house that I eventually arrested Bomgardi in. It brought back a lot of memories, none of them good.
"Hey Rose, you good? You zoned of for a second there." Spoke Detective Amour, staring over intently at me.
"Just a lot of memories." I said, opening the door and getting out before anything else could be said. The moment my door closed, I could feel his eyes on my every move. Detective Amour was slow to get out of the car, oblivious to the rising tension surrounding us. Keeping my hand on my gun, I watched for any sign of reflecting metal as I made my way down the pavement to where it connect to the house before me.
"Do you see something?" Questioned Amour, pulling out his gun and taking cover by the hood of the car. "Get out of the open." He grumbled, as though I was the biggest idiot around. I knew he wouldn't shoot me, I mean too much to Bomgardi for him to try it. But that doesn't mean he wouldn't take a shot of the person I had with me. "Rose." Growled Amour, annoyed with my lack of interest in his commands or questioning.
"I know you're there, open up or I'll do it for you." Losing interest in this little game he was playing, I showed I wasn't scared by letting go of my gun and letting my arms go out by my sides.
"Rose! What the hell are you doing?" Furious now, I could hear Adrian cocking his gun. Just as the gun was being cocked however, I could hear the door unlocking as the little weasel poked his head out. Adrian had let off a shot in his direction, just barely missing him.
"No!" I yelled back annoyed at him, turning back and seeing that the door was now wide open and unaccompanied. "He's going to run." Shaking my head at his foolish move, I sprinted into the building after him. With my gun out and ready in seconds, I was entering the house and checking every room. He kept it dark, knowing that it would give him better coverage.
"What the hell are you doing?" Growled Adrian frustratedly as he came up behind me.
"My job, which you're making much harder to do!" Just as I spoke, I saw a shadow moving against the back wall toward the way we came in. Quickly spinning around, I then aimed my gun at it. Adrian held his hands up defensively, looking at me confused as though the gun was meant for him. "You're caught, turn on these lights and cut the crap." I spat, watching as the figure slowly moved down the hall before the lights came on.
